Family Sunday in the Cities sharing mass and dinner/"By your perseverance you will secure your lives."

Nancy sent me this gem from lunch yesterday with her 8 kids for the weekend.  I imagine they are in a mad scramble getting ready to drive half an hour to mass close to my parents here in Robbinsdale - Sacred Heart where they were married 9 years ago!

We will all be gathering for mass there at 10 and then we will go for lunch together at MacDonalds.  Yes, I anticipate craziness and my parents not lasting very long, but pictures will prove that this family time supreme happened on this 33rd Sunday of ordinary time!
Giving me a smile at breakfast so that they can satisfy my obsession with pictures...

Dad came into the bedroom this morning speaking about how the Gospel asks us to persevere in Faith!  We need to always be ready for we know not the time or the place where we will be called from this world... whether it be the end of the age or the end of our lives.
After meals dad and I put some pieces in the ongoing puzzle, and we filled in a difficult spot today that made us feel like we had a big accomplishment already at the beginning of the day.

The words of Christ in the Luke's Gospel today... Luke 21
"...You will even be handed over by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends,
and they will put some of you to death.
You will be hated by all because of my name,
but not a hair on your head will be destroyed.
By your perseverance you will secure your lives."

Hard words as I sit here between my parents and both have said today that "things get so difficult when you are older.  Everything is hard!"  Dad did take to heart from the Gospel that he must go forward with cheerful perseverance, and always hold the name of Jesus in his heart with the help of Jesus, Mary and The Saints led by The Bride, The Church!
Meal after meal we have tried to fill in a spot in the lower left hand, and Victory makes us smile and feel like we have accomplished much with smiles and accolades!

Sing praise to the LORD with the harp,
with the harp and melodious song.
With trumpets and the sound of the horn
sing joyfully before the King, the LORD.
R. The Lord comes to rule the earth with justice.
Let the sea and what fills it resound,
the world and those who dwell in it;
let the rivers clap their hands,
the mountains shout with them for joy.
R. The Lord comes to rule the earth with justice.
Psalm 98 of Joy and happiness at the small things in life!

Jesus, how we love you and long to be united with you.  We must persevere as we carry/drag our Most Cherished Cross because things "get hard."  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barb
