All has changed since... Nancy and Bill now live by the Twin Cities, Maria and Joseph now live in Washington state, and now Little Sister Hallel/Susan lives with her Community of the Lamb in the heart of KC! Each family has also added another member, too. Pat and I have fake plans to return to KC and spend some prayer, Thanksgiving meal and dishes with our nun daughter. The coming snow makes that kind of a shaky plan at this point.
As someone said about this picture - "LOVE those baby fingers!" Yes, Jude, you shared a lot of happiness with us on Sunday!
How I am over the moon in love with this picture as it indicates to me in a very real way how much better I am finding my mother these days! She is happier and getting out more and all signs show that her depression is so much better and hence she is just plain better on all levels. Her smile is like the sunshine coming out!
How I cherish the times I am gifted with sharing prayer with my two parents! Another sign of mom being better was her getting her prayer book and joining dad and I in morning prayer a week ago!
The 8 weeks I had with them while we prepared for their big move into Assisted Living - there was a rare time that she would join us usually with her eyes closed and only the parts that she has memorized.
This quote grabbed me and made me smile with True Knowledge of experiencing this throughout my days of being pulled this way and that... my life is definitely not my own!
"There are moments when, whatever the posture of the body,
the soul is on its knees." - Victor Hugo
For myself that is most all the time! My inner temple is where I pray without ceasing throughout my days with the help of my Spiritual Mother, Mary and her rosary beads!More sweet fingers - Jude has found his thumb, too!
"Bless the Lord, all you works of the Lord,
praise and exalt him above all forever."
R. Give glory and eternal praise to him.
"Angels of the Lord, bless the Lord,
praise and exalt him above all forever."
R. Give glory and eternal praise to him.
"You heavens, bless the Lord,
praise and exalt him above all forever."
R. Give glory and eternal praise to him..."
Once again the Psalm is from Daniel 3 today!
We have so much to be thankful for! Infinite reasons to be thankful on this Thanksgiving week and the end of the liturgical year - we start afresh on Sunday with Advent beginning! How we are blessed with our church placing this time for preparing for our Lord in our day to day lives of our journey with Jesus, Mary, the Saints and The Church!
Driving into the pitch black with Pat as he baled corn stalks into the night. I had never ridden along as they baled.
Jesus tells us to be ready yet to be wary of those that want us to believe them as they take us away from Jesus and His Bride, The Church. We are helped to see the Truth and to follow it by The Wisdom of The Church! We can trust and follow with no hesitation!
There is something about the darkness that makes you trust and pray even more!
Jesus, we place our week in your hands and trust that we will be safe and protected as we all travel to be together with family. Keep all those on the road safe and may we always give you the praise and thanksgiving now and always. Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless, Barb
Thanksgiving last year... each year looks different, but the spending time with family with so much to thankful for is the theme without fail!
Always more to capture!
Mashed potatoes and peas for Berna and snow on the ground! Snow is coming this year, too! I had a new knee just a few weeks before, so I was not in the best shape. This year better!
Thanksgiving dance at the farm!
Father- daughter dance is so great!!!
Decorations last year centered around grandma getting back on her feet... wonderful family times were the right medicine!
Ruth's beautiful table.. this year it will be Nancy's new home!
David made grandma a huge prayer chain!!! LOVE!
Pointing out their prayers... so blessed!
Prayers before we eat with great-grandma Ann's farm dishes!
Praying down the line with what we thankful for... a family tradition on Thanksgiving!
Daddy shark!!!
"There are not as many souls who go astray,
as there are souls who go through life,
half-perfected, half-formed, half in love with God.
There are not as many crosses and trials
trampled down and cast back into the face of God,
as there are inspirations of grace unheeded,
and invitations to intimacy with God declined.
There are thousands upon thousands, and thousands again
in the world and in the cloister who lead magnificent lives
and who are pleasing to God, but there are few who give Him all,
few who live with Him always in His Living Tabernacle."
