God multiplies heavenly favors along our path/Deep in prayer

Jude woke up from his morning nap to find George and his family there to give him a warm greeting!  It was precious to watch how much George wanted to put his face next to Jude and give him lots of loving hugs and affection!

It was a big crazy weekend with the move from one house in Marshall to another for John and Bobbi!  I had a house full of the 8 younger kids, and although it was kind of nuts in a lot of ways... the two baby boys getting to know each other and sharing similar interests and getting along doing them was a special gift to me!
So close in age - just 6 weeks apart and so similar in size!  As long as they each had a board book to read they were content to share time and activities together!

I had imagined that they would be crawling off in two different directions, but no... they enjoyed being together and it was a peaceful time for grandma!
My picture taking was diminished by the business of the day... I longed to capture when they both sat on my lap peacefully and seemed to enjoy some grandma snuggles shared!

I thought to myself that this must be like it would be to have twins, and that it was a special moment!  It was a moment when no pictures could capture the sight, but my words are now sharing the specialness!
Soon they will be walking, but after this day with them together... I will think they might be off together somewhere exploring the farm!  LOVE!
Josephine checking out the hugging loving George.  There are fake plans for Hector, who is between these two to be here in a couple months.  The three should be walking then, and grandma has visions of 3 little boys holding hands and walking off together now.  Who am I fooling?
Memory from 8 years ago!  10 month old Augustine meeting a newborn calf!  He is now the big brother to 4 younger siblings including baby George!

Jesus asks us in the Gospel today to be humble in our lives, in our marriages, in our prayers, in our work, in our rest, in our everything!
From Matthew 23
"...The greatest among you must be your servant.
Whoever exalts himself will be humbled;
but whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”
My companion this morning while I did morning prayer in my mother's chairs... the winter pillows are put away for the spring that is seeming to be upon us!

I loved these words this morning from Blessed Columba Marmion (1923), who was from Belgium and a Benedictine Abbot... the Meditation was titled Humble before our Father
The Father wills that despite our unworthiness, we should give him the name of "Father".  God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!" (Gal 4:6)... And in order to assure this decree of adoption, in order for this filiation of love should be wrought in us, God, with magnificent profusion, multiplies heavenly favors along our path; The Incarnation, the Church, the sacraments - especially the Eucharist- the inspirations of His Spirit.  So that every gift that raises us up to him, every grace that leads us to perfection, is from above, coming down from the Father of lights (James 1:17).
I came across this today on the back of a sharing by Hallel's Community of the Lamb!  A true sign of how humble the Son of God is in our lives!  We are to follow his example!
Special prayers today for my Godson, Steve!   Here he is at our family Christmas Camp - CCC!  He is a fabulous cook and always willing to help his Aunt and mom there feeding the huge family that gathers!
You are in my thoughts and prayers today, Steve!  He will be in surgery at around noon for an ongoing battle with skin cancer.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph gathered to pray with Our Lady from Lourdes and Guadalupe!
St Pio wanted to join and is such a powerful force for healing!  Aglow in the majesty of heavenly Golden LIGHT!
"He who loves the Mass
is already in paradise." - St Philip Neri

A picture of heaven come down to earth!  Yes! We find such heavenly favors along our path!

I am toying with going into our new adoration chapel to be close to Jesus as I pray for my Godson today! I am asking the Lord to make a way for the desk work I need to do to fall into place quickly and make a way for me to fall at his feet in prayer!

Good old Isaiah comes through again today in the first reading!
Come now, let us set things right,
says the LORD:
Though your sins be like scarlet,
they may become white as snow;
Though they be crimson red,
they may become white as wool.
If you are willing, and obey,
you shall eat the good things of the land;..."
My mother's icon blesses my home!

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much, please be with my Godson this day as he will have surgery.  Hold him close to your heart burning with love for him, and heal and protect him!  Jesus, thank you for all the many heavenly favors we are given along the narrow path we are on as we carry/drag our Most Cherished Cross and follow you.  May we die to self so that the Inspirations of your Spirit may guide and direct us and give us the strength to give without counting the cost.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen
LOVE the Church and yes we are given such an amazing heavenly favor to have the Wisdom, Beauty and Truth that comes to us with each new day!  Bless-bless, Barb
Pat gazing with awe at our daughter, who said "yes" to the call to be the spouse of Christ - overhead the Lamb!
"Wounded, I will never cease to LOVE!"  Hard to do but if we allow Jesus to fill us with his Spirit we have the strength to embrace our Most Cherished Cross and find LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!
"Time is full of eternity.
As we use it,
so shall we be.

Every day
has its opportunities,
every hour
its offer of grace."

Cardinal Henry Manning (1883)
