Does anyone else feel that this is a concerning time with all the closing of countries, airports, events, my parents are on lock down at their Assisted living facility with no one coming or going... I know that they are precautions, but it all feels majorly limiting to me. I am not used to be unable to see my parents and find it a hard pill to swallow. I even had fake plans to go up there and spend the night with them on Saturday and take my dad to mass.
Praying by Mary, Our Lady of those Persecuted. Our Lady Help of Persecuted Christians - we all have a need for her help in this crazy world!
Pat just talked to Maria in the Tacoma Seattle area and there will be no masses due to the worry about the virus spreading. We have stopped the greeting of peace, but to have no mass is really a terrible thing for us to face. Maria thought that on base they still might be able to have mass... Lord, protect us and allow us to come to you in the Eucharist!
Deep and humble worship and recognition of our Lord there on the altar!
This made me smile to see on the refrigerator at Ruth's yesterday. I remember Mary also doing this same thing when she was in 2nd grade! How I pray that all my grandchildren will consider a call to religious life or the priesthood! Rose it would be such a beautiful LIFE of prayer and dishes, and Jesus, the Tremendous LOVER would be your spouse!
I spent the day at Ruth's watching the cows for calving... it was a quiet day, but today is off to a busy start with 2 first calf heifers calving.
Peaceful nice day yesterday...
Two first calf heifers today! One is John's pet cow, Baby's daughter! John will be excited to meet Baby's grandbaby! Soon!!!
The Gospel was shared with Pat last night before bed, and we both were moved by this "good one." The rich man and Lazarus is important for us to recall that having it all is not good for our souls! So much of this world this day is acquiring wealth and that life with all the luxuries and pleasures that we can pile one on top of another! Beautiful homes, cars, vacations, pets rather than kids, taking the life of innocent babies in the womb, taking life into our own hands when it isn't convenient to have children due to our career or desire for pleasurable experiences with contraception or abortion, the best of food and drink, the perfect body, so many lies that are taken as how we are to live and act and enjoy life. Lazarus is the embodiment of all of this and we see where it lands him... in Hell suffering eternal hell fire! Showing the reality of how all the pleasures of this world lead to losing our souls.
Spent the day with Joy yesterday! She is so sweet and loving to her old grandma! She was busy washing windows and helping mom with some other chores, we also read some books together. She is truly a JOY to be around!
How we must embrace humility and not look for the easy easy way out, but the right way... the narrow path as we carry/drag our Most Cherished Cross and follow after Jesus!
Joy with a newborn calf! I just watched Pat pull one as the other was having it on her own! Two healthy new baby calves and both are heifers! Thank you, Lord!
Joy loves to watch her strong grandpa give his animals the best care and feed the world with all his hard work! Bless -bless, Barb
Jude with grandma brushing our teeth together the other day! One of my favorite things to do with the grandkids! Lord, keep us weak and humble and may we love and serve you without counting the cost, and embrace our sufferings as they are united with yours! Amen
