This was one of Nancy's art project creations from years back and so perfect for Lent as we ponder the unconditional LOVE and forgiveness we receive from our Savior! As Maria put under the crucifix in John's bedroom before she left for the Poor Clare Monastery to discern for 5 months - "This is how one loves." Yes! We embrace our Most Cherished Cross and find LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!
Daniel 9 from the first reading at mass today expresses how we are loved and forgiven if only we humbly confess our sins and ask for forgiveness...
O LORD, we are shamefaced, like our kings, our princes, and our fathers,
for having sinned against you.
But yours, O Lord, our God, are compassion and forgiveness!
Getting George to take a nap on Saturday while mom and dad and older brother were helping John and Bobbi move. It was a big day for all of us, but so wonderful to empty one house in a day and now the slow unpacking begins in the new house.
Sunday was clear liquid diet for me, and then the cleaning out procedure for most of the night preparing for the colonoscopy first thing this morning. Not pleasant! How the rosary helped me along the path of suffering and allowed me to trust that all would turn out well. Yes! My good BP and low steady pulse I give our Lady holding all my concerns close to her Immaculate heart, with the rosary prayer filling my day and night, as the calming effect inside and outside.
Cow TV is now our constant companion in our bedroom. So it begins for us and so many prayers for a good year of calving including a nicer spring without the awful April snow storms of the last two years!
The little family in their new home!
We are reminded today that we are to return the love and mercy and forgiveness we have been given to those around us. Sometimes the hardest to forgive and love are those the closest to us. "Wounded, I will never cease to love."
The Gospel and words from Jesus to us!
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful...
Jesus, how we love you and long to be good givers of the Good Gifts you have given to us... may we return your LOVE and forgiveness to all those just as you have showered that upon us! May we die to self so that we may give without counting the cost. Jesus, we trust in you. Amen

Happy Feast Day
Saint Frances of Rome
1384 -1440
Feast Day: March 9
Patronage: Benedictine oblates, automobile drivers
Frances of Rome, an Italian saint, was a wife, mother, mystic, organizer of charitable services and a Benedictine oblate who founded a religious community of oblates. With her husband's consent St. Frances practiced continence and advanced in a life of contemplation. Her visions often assumed the form of drama enacted for her by heavenly personages. She had the gift of miracles and ecstasy, as well as the bodily vision of her guardian angel, had revelations concerning Purgatory and Hell, and foretold the ending of the Western Schism. She could read the secrets of consciences and detect plots of diabolical origin. She was remarkable for her humility and detachment, her obedience and patience.
I am so blessed to be at a point in my life with more time at the altar of my inner temple! My life can be crazy too! Bless-bless, Barb

St. Frances of Rome was a wife, mother, mystic, founded a religious community and had a heart for her family and the poor. If you're looking for a heavenly friend to pray for you in your daily life as a wife and mom, read more about St. Frances' life and love today.
