“When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will realize that I AM..."/Easter tree 2020/Joy is quietly 3

Pat has discovered that Simon's high school on line doesn't start til 11a, so Simon is his helper til then.  With 10 new calves yesterday that means a lot of moving around those new babies and helping them nurse on their mothers.  Thanks, Simon!
Getting ready to go to school after homeschool in the barn with grandpa Pat.  Grandma was impressed to see that he is reading To Kill a Mockingbird.  Such an amazing book!
I have been to 2 different vets and on the road in my sudden chapel on wheels to get meds for my farmer hubby.

One Vet is 20 minutes away so the beads were lifting up my thoughts and prayers for my 5 kids and their families on the 5 decades of the rosary each day, and I added one for Pat - the crucifixion as we are helped to die to self in our marriages, right?  Then I pray one for my Godchildren - the Baptism of the Lord as that is when I became their Godmother for my 5 Godchildren.  There are 3 other decades I pray for my family, Pa's family, and The Church, but those will have to wait for later.
My farmer husband this morning as he headed over to face another day of calving and whatever it may hold.  His parting words were about how as a farmer you just keep going forward with "crazy busy" days in this spring calving time of year followed by or on top of the crops going in according to Mother Nature getting the soil warm and dry.

The last two years have been very wet and cold with a huge April snow storm.  How we pray that this year we will have a nice warm spring.  The crop will go in regardless of the world's situation.
The wall of "famous" family pictures and my hard working farmer - an essential worker as they feed the world!
A sign of the times!  Pat's mask reflected as he picks up some things from the animal nutrition and vet store.  Speaking through the window and they hand what he needs out the door keeping social distances, yet knowing the the farmers need medicine to keep cows and calves healthy.
Pat had 10 calves yesterday getting our total up quickly to about 60!  Two sets of twins in two days and 6 sets of twins this calving season!
Pat in Walmart with his mask.  He knows that he needs to stay healthy, and is very much motivated to be careful.

"When people saw me in the mask they seemed to keep more a distance from me."
All of a sudden I was called upon to run to two different Vets for meds... one was 20 minutes away, so suddenly I was gifted with my chapel on wheels.  Quick morning prayer with Pat along with the Gospel for today...

First reading from Numbers 21 today sets the standard of healing being raised up for the Israelites - a bronze serpent on a stick.  Bitten by the seraph serpents and facing death, if they look upon this image they are healed!  Jesus tells us of what he will do for us...
So Jesus said to them,
“When you lift up the Son of Man,
then you will realize that I AM,
and that I do nothing on my own,
but I say only what the Father taught me.
The one who sent me is with me.
He has not left me alone,
because I always do what is pleasing to him.”
Because he spoke this way, many came to believe in him.
John 8

They believed because of what he said, but the world was changed and redeemed by his being lifted up on the Cross for us!  Dying for our sins and if we look upon him with Faith in our hearts, minds and souls... we can then follow him bearing the Cross we are given to find LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!
Joy will have her birthday party quietly at home today in the midst of calving busyness!  I just watched 3 calves born in about 5 minutes on Cow TV!  Joy is lucky to have 5 siblings and her parents, an instant party!
Grandma popped in for a short visit after dropping off the meds with grandpa Pat.

French braiding her hair special for her birthday we headed out to look for the mother cat as she had her kittens on Joy's birthday last year.  A stop on the swings!
Boots on the wrong feet adds to the cuteness... small green appearing in the grass.
The addition and remodel is now officially done!
Belly full of kittens - Joy brings her in the warm house with hopes that baby kittens soon will appear.
 An arm full!
the basket is all ready for momma kitty!

This so reminds me of her mom, Ruth, when she was a little girl!  She loved the baby kitties and soon her farmer dad was allowing her to have them in the house in the clothes basket.  Now the next generation!

Jesus, our heads are spinning and our hearts are full and our minds are overwhelmed by this world we are experiencing these days of fighting the world epidemic at the same time as working on the farm, studying from home, keeping social distance even from our own family, praying without ceasing for all the world...  The Psalm today - 102 reminds us of how you are with us and we can trust and give you the control!
Let this be written for the generation to come,
and let his future creatures praise the LORD:
“The LORD looked down from his holy height,
from heaven he beheld the earth,
To hear the groaning of the prisoners,
to release those doomed to die.”
R.    O Lord, hear my prayer, and let my cry come to you.
Yes, Lord, we trust in you.  Amen
Twins that Pat pulled at about this time yesterday - 10 calves yesterday and just now 3 in 10 minutes!
The kids sure liked that I found these Easter doughnuts on the day old rack on Sunday!  I had to make breakfast for the work crew out getting everything dried out after an inch and a half of rain!
Lilac branches budding out in the warm weather...
Big kids give Joy a turn...
Ruth helped me get my lilac branch for my Easter Tree 2020!  My mother's icon, too!
Easter butterfly from 3 years ago!  Joy's Baptism in the midst of David's first Communion!  We also went to KC for Easter with Hallel!!!
The Cross I made for last year - "I promise unto death"  Hallel's final vows in France with the 21 and John and Bobbi's wedding!

This year my cross will be my mother's passing to LIFE Eternal!  I am so excited to make this in her honor and to hold as a precious memory on my Easter Tree!
The Cross from the previous year...Soon the leaves will come forth here in the house in time for Easter!
Walked out to find this lone robin singing her heart out at the top of the tree by the barn!  True sign of spring!
Decked out awaiting the leaves and lilacs in time for Easter!  Also awaiting the Cross and the Butterfly for 2020 Easter!
Nighttime with the glowing icon!  My mother's work of love that I am so blessed to have in my home!  It is as if she were sharing her Faith with JOY, as we did every time we came together.  It was often over these last years of her increasing struggles with dementia, and I thank my husband for all the time he allowed me to spend days with my parents with his blessing! Bless-bless, Barb
