The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. Psalm 34

 I keep pondering the gift I was given a couple beautiful fall days in September with my mom.  We went on two toots in the countryside and enjoyed the sights of the farmland and had a nice visit.

My mother loved to go out on "toots" and a lot of Sunday afternoons were spent going out driving around the countryside looking at old building sites and pipedreaming about how they could be fixed up.  Mom and dad did many remodels and finally a build of their dream retirement home/vacation home for their 11 kids!

I find these fond memories both recent and long ago comforting yet they also make me realize just how recent this was and hard to really feel that mom is not a 3 hour trip or phone call away...
Today's Psalm so true for me after losing my mother about 10 days ago... looking to my faith more than ever to help me through with my loss.
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted;
and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.
Many are the troubles of the just man,
but out of them all the LORD delivers him.
R.    The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.
Many times I have spent days in a row with my parents, and now those times are so precious!  LOVED sharing our faith beginning with the office shared before breakfast.... my parents in their old prayer books and me on my phone.  Mom under the painting she loved of the 3 girls, which reminded her of her 3 oldest - all girls followed by 9 others some of each.
 A rose from her garden and her prayer book... their house is now sold and dad prays alone.

This day has escaped me with watching cow TV over at the farm while Ruth homeschooled.  It is good to be busy.  Just back from praying for Fr Todd with 7 Sisters in the big empty church.  The Adoration chapel is now closed due to the virus concerns.  No mass through Easter.  I watched mass at St Patrick's in New York again this morning. So surreal to see the priest repeating his own responses in the huge empty Church in the heart of that huge city struggling with so many sick!
 Mom for the weeks I was so lucky to spend with her this summer and fall.  Mom, I love you and miss you and see you at work loving your many children more perfectly!
 A painting she did from a dream she had and coming into The Church.  Now she has come into His Presence and I pray for her journey
They reached 70 years!  I know that my father also is finding comfort in his Faith!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barb
