Dad does Trinity mass and tours the farm... breakfast on Ruth's porch, kittens, kids, wind and heat!

My Sunday delight!!! Dad with his our 2 youngest grandchildren, Jude and Birdie along with Joy!  My father joining us for mass and then at the farm for breakfast!  We are into our 8th week since he arrived here and went on Hospice.

He went out for the first time last weekend for Birdie Barbara's Baptism following mass, and then a party here at our home.  He realized that he can manage to be out for a few hours of faith and family time, so once again he agreed to come with us today!
Grandpa Patrick put sweet good little girlie to sleep and my dad held her briefly after breakfast.
So many Sundays in the last 3 years, since Ruth built this glorious porch on the old remodeled farmhouse... we share a wonderful breakfast brunch after mass shared as a family!  Dad, who follows my blog, has seen it very often.

Today he announced to Ruth and Paul that it was wonderful to share this time that he has seen, but never before experienced first hand.  Today was that first day!  Trinity Sunday - hot and windy with the glorious green pastures and the cows and calves up to their bellies in the green grass on both sides of the road!
Pat holding newborn - 4 week old Birdie Barbara- she was quietly awake looking around and then fell asleep in the big wind and the lot of family activity!
Yes, mass has still the feeling of Covid precautions, but it was good to see Simon, Mary and David serving on the altar today, and for my father to be there with us, too!  It seems like we have a new Sunday routine.  We even all were at the 8A mass this week, which is when we usually gather as a family sharing our Faith with great JOY!
David is starting the summer with a wrapped arm after a fencing accident.  He still served on the altar and even rang the bells.
It is called a buckle fracture, and should heal quickly.  It hasn't slowed down David much...
He was out with the fencing crew yesterday...
Lunch break time for the fencers - yesterday the wind made it more pleasant and it wasn't near as hot as today.

My father had prayed to my mother to help him figure out why he has a new pain in his midback.  Shortly after Pat reminded us that my father is looking up at his TV with his neck bent... TV is now at eye level and heating pad is helping get that pain gone... thanks, mom!
Cherries are part of the lunch...
Pat reports is was a good job done yesterday thanks to Paul, Simon and David with a wrapped arm.
 "Does it hurt, Dave."  "Some."
First time in Pat's big new shop - 6 year old - It was cool in there with all the doors closed to keep out the heat and the birds.
Showing him the heating and cooling system in the floor.
In to see the changes Ruth has made in our farmhouse!  Our bedroom was where Bobbi is cutting fruit.  Ruth switched the kitchen from one side of the house to the other and the bedroom is now where the kitchen was!

Trinity Sunday - the second reading from 2 Corinthians 13
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ
and the love of God
and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you.
So blessed to have my Father here with us - as we drove away from our wonderful breakfast - I emotionally told dad how much it means to me to have him know my grandkids day to day.

In a few days we will have Nancy's 5 here for some days, while they are off to Texas.  My brother Dan and wife have plans to come on Friday for a visit... it sounds like "the more, the merrier" to me!
Such a peaceful baby and beautiful, too!!!

Gospel Jn 3:16-18

God so loved the world that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him might not perish
but might have eternal life.
Smiles and kitties at our feet!
She is praying for us, and we are so blessed by her new LIFE making our LOVE grow bigger and richer and so much JOY!
Dad is greeted by their many baby kitties!
 Joy shows him her favorite...
It gives me so much JOY to have my dad getting to know my grandkids and they him...
 Kittens underfoot!
Ruth's beautiful table is always so special for our Sunday breakfast feast.  The first Sunday dad was here he asked about some "sweet rolls."  He knows our ritual!
Joy and great-grandpa counting the little lemon cakes.
A familiar look for my Most Cherished Cross, who loves little ones!  She looks like her Aunts before her!
Thinking that this first Farm Breakfast is kind of wonderful, and she is a big reason it is so wonderful along with her great-grandpa for the first time!
Dad at the head and enjoying this time!
Putting her to sleep in his huge hand and arm!
It was so cute to see cats and kittens joining in under the table and all around the feet of dad and the 15 gathered together after mass.
 Dad's tour of the farm...
Grain Bins - "Pat you be careful when you go up and down them!"
Ruth's beautiful garden - soon we will have tomatoes and make his favorite soup!
The playhouse that Ruth built, and dad remembered the stations of the Cross that are through our grove - made my Maria 16 years ago when she came out of the Poor Clares.  They are still there in many places - we saw the 9th and 10th station on our trip around the yard.
Cows and calves in the green pastures on both sides of the road!
More cows and calves on the hill.  Such a special day that we all are grateful for my dad being here to share with us and make us realize just how blessed we are to share Faith/Family/Farm with JOY!

Thank you, Lord, for this magical day on this Feast of the Holy Trinity - back at mass and breakfast on Ruth's beautiful porch!  Bless-bless, Barbara and family!
