"Takes delight in all his commands..." Psalm 112

The look of fall harvest beginning!  Yes, it is early, but with the dryness of the corn plants there is worry that the corn will fall off in the wind and be lost to the combine. There are always different things to consider and each year has a different set of conditions all its own.  I quoted a partial verse of Psalm 112 for my title this morning - here is the entire thought;
"Happy the man who fears the Lord,
who takes delight in all his commands.
His sons will be powerful on earth;
the children of the upright are blessed.

Riches and wealth are in his house;
his justice stands firm for ever.
He is a light in the darkness for the upright:
he is generous, merciful and just."
Just as Family and Farm are so closely meshed together in our happy prairie farm life... Just as I trust Jesus totally with my life and my LOVE, as we discovered how far that can stretch when we faced brain cancer in our only son, John, 3 years ago.  Jesus was in control in the midst of the storm, and we placed our entire Trust in HIM!  I can, likewise and without reservation, put my entire and total Trust in his Bride, The Church!  I will never be a shopping cart Catholic, who thinks that I can pick and choose what I want to take out of the "commands" of the Church!  This is not being a true and devoted Catholic!  John was telling me yesterday as he was driving to mass through St Paul, that he had just passed a sign on a front lawn which read - "Catholic, who is voting NO!"  John's comment - "That is not a Catholic!"  So true!  That is a person, who is ignoring the Truth of our Church and choosing to think that they know better than the wisdom of 2,000 years.  They are turning their backs on the commands of God in his making of a woman for a man... reading a Focus on the Family article this Truth is stated in this way - "In actuality, the Bible expresses its perspective primarily in positive terms. "Have you not read," says Jesus, "that He who made them at the beginning 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh?'" (Matthew 19:4-5; quoting from Genesis 1:27, 2:24). In other words, Scripture declares in no uncertain terms that sex is for marriage and marriage is for sex. Exclusively. That's because sex is not just a matter of casual recreation or a pleasurable way of expressing mutual love. It's a question of two people becoming one flesh."

I know, without a doubt, that the Catholic Church is helping us to eternal LIFE by showing us the Path to Heaven!  I do not question their commands... rather I love to learn more about them.  They have put the best minds ever to the task of figuring out the moral Truth that Christ came to reveal to us, and the Holy Spirit continues to bring to LIGHT in this world of confusion and darkness!  I feel no questioning or hesitation when it comes to following the Church, and ALL it holds out to me as the way to live my life!  If you are like me and you have misplaced your copy of Archbishop Neinstedt's talking to us about our Church's stand on the marriage ammendment.  Here is the link to listen to again - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mr7Z2T77myI.  Catholics want to know the Church's stand, and embrace the Truth!

Jesus, and your amazing Bride, the Church... we are filled with such sadness to hear the confusion and darkness that are coloring the world around us!  May we find the peace and joy that comes with Trust in all commands of wisdom and grace, set out for us to follow after you on our path to eternal LIFE in heaven, by your True Church!  "What will happen in a society where marriage is not valued.  That parents are interchangeable and not a place where a man and woman can bring forth new life?"  ..Lord, may your LIGHT shine forth on the hill for all to see in the midst of this storm of attack on the Truth.  It is not just a storm but also a battle!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Halleluia
Bless-bless, Barb

"... having allowed the procession to pass on a little, Celine and Therese slipped down together  to the bottom of the ancient tomb of St Cecelia and took some earth which was sanctified in her presence.  Before my trip to Rome I didn't have any special devotion to this saint, but when I visited her house transformed into a church, the site of her martydom, when learning that she was proclaimed patroness of music not because of her beautiful voice or her talent for music, but in memory of the virginal song she sang to her Heavenly Spouse hidden in the depths of her heart, I felt more than devotion for her; it was the real tenderness of a friend.  She became my saint of predilection, my intimate confidante.  Everything in her thrilled me, especially her abandonment, her limitless confidence that made her capable of virginizing souls who had never desired any other joys but those of the present life.  St Cecilia is like the bride in the Canticle; in her I see 'a chior in an armed camp.'  Her life was nothing else but a melodious song in the midst of the greatest trials, and this does not surprise me because 'the Gospel rested in her heart,' and in her heart reposed the Spouse of Virgins!"  St Therese - Story of a Soul  Lord, though the intercession of St Cecelia and all your army of saints - may those listening to the alluring lies of Satan come to know the Truth!  We ask for the miracle of "virginizing souls!"
