Here is our crew and how fun it is to all be together in the big bowl of soup called family/fun/sharing time together allowing us to experience their world. Notice the short sleeves and shorts in the 70 degree temps. It is fun to have all the 6 grandkids of varying ages starting with Therese at 5 almost 6 next month to Bernadette, who is now 15 months… able to walk no their own. On this hike around the mountains base some wanted to be carried… Augustine made me laugh as he walked along holding mommy's hand he said - "Mommy, mommy hold my hand." Then after a stumble and getting tired - "Mommy, mommy, hold my feet." In other words pick me up and carry me. I have wished that I had a notebook to keep track of all the sweet things little Gus says to his mommy. It adds up to that he wants to share all of his experiences with his most beloved mom! When we were going over a bridge in the van on the 2 day trip here - "Mommy, I am up high!" I guess you get the picture and it is quite sweet to see how much Gus wants to share all with his mom! I am sure that will be true always, and Nancy will cherish it always too!
Grandpa with the 2 little ones… they are just a month apart in age. I had just barely gotten home from my month here in El Paso for the birth and rebirth of Patrick born dead after being without oxygen in the womb - now healed. I got home to the farm on October 27th and I was up at Nancy's in Plymouth for the birth of Bernadette on November 13th! How fun for these two to grow up together, and they have been sharing time getting to know each other surrounded with the LOVE of there wonderful grandfather and namesake, Patrick!
Bernadette getting a lesson from Patrick on potty training - mostly sharing books on little stools the right size. Life is meant to be shared no matter what it may be. There are no secrets in our family - that is the motto we live and breath by and have our being.
The mountain views we are surrounded by here in the desert Southwest, and the sweet family views we are so enjoying! Cousin time shared, sister time for Nancy and Maria, precious time with our Son-in-law, Joseph, which has been few and far between over these years of the , and time for Pat and I to share with our two girls, for Pat a whole new adventure in a place that he was only here for about 3 hours in the past. He has a long list of things he wants to do here, but our sledding in the white sands is not to be. We checked on line before we made the two hour trip and discovered that it is closed due to a drone that crashed in the missile testing area! We still filled our time with walking in the mountains and riding still higher! Now the crazy bunch is enjoying an indoor pool, while grandma holds down the fort and orders our supper to be delivered when they come in the door hungry after all that exercise!
Praying over our picnic in the mountains - on this day where Jesus fed the 4,000 with 7 loaves and 2 fish! We are fed and grateful for all the goodness and overflowing blessings and graces we are given! Tomorrow we will share mass at their parish and then downtown to St Patrick's Cathedral! My Patrick is excited to have little Dave show him the snakes all around St Patrick's feet as he drives them out of Ireland! Little Dave has such a sense of Good and bad - when he saw that he was a huge fan of St Patrick - the ultimate Good Guy!
The two 5 year olds with the rock mountain behind them…
It is now the vigil for the 6th Sunday of Ordinary time… the Gospel is from Matthew 5 - The Sermon on the mount where he explains how He has come to show us the true meaning of the 10 commandments! We listened to a Matthew Kelly CD on the trip and he reminds us that we are called to become as holy as possible - the best version of ourselves. If you are waiting to find the right person/good person, you in turn need to be a good and holy person for them!
Well, the swimmers should be returning soon, and the smell of pizza is filling the house!
Jesus, thank you for the busy times of sharing one with the other. We are seeing with our own eyes and hearts that our family in Texas is happy and carrying forth your Truth and LOVE! We ask for the end of wars and divisions as well as violence and terror. Keep all those safe that are serving to protect and serve our country. Jesus, we are fed and taught at your feet as we sit on the mountain and listen to your Words of Spirit and LIGHT! Jesus, we trust in YOU. Amen and Hallelujah
On top of the world high above El Paso! Bernadette sure looks to be loving the grandpa pillow…
A different kind of beauty…
Real true honest beauty - Faith and Family sharing LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!
"It was also said, Whoever divorces his wife must give her a bill of divorce. Bit I say to you, whoever divorces his wife - unless the marriage is unlawful- causes her to commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery." Jesus to us as He preaches to us on the mountain! With the crazy rate of divorce in the - this is pretty black and white and tossed aside. May marriage be protected and cherished no matter the cost! "Wounded, we will not cease to LOVE." a motto to live by whether you are a little sister or not. Praise HIM! We are planning to have lunch with the Community in Kansas City on Tuesday noon - the feast of St Bernadette! I think it will be a most glorious party with our family there! Jesus, you are too good to us!
