The girls are together again this morning along with baby Luke and bigger Augustine! Ruth is off to do fertility care/Creighton model introductory session for a couple. I am in awe of how the Lord took Ruth's Cross and turned it into something Life-giving! After her uterus ruptured having a V-back with her second child- she was told no more children. With a second opinion from the Catholic woman surgeon, who saved her uterus - she was told that she could have another if she gave her uterus a year or more to heal. How to accomplish this? She learned Creighton Model for them to follow to wait for a safe time, and then she continued on to become an instructor and to teach others how to wait if they need to, or to find ways to have children if they are having infertility issues, or to just understand their bodies more. The three hanging out this morning. The continuing story of Ruth is that she has now had 3 miracle babies since Mary! Each one represents constant prayers from the moment we are aware of their arrival in the womb! Now Ruth's sister, Maria, is gathering hope and strength from her older sister. She ruptured while having her son, Patrick, 16 months ago, and after allowing time for healing she is now expecting her next child.... Knowing that she will never be allowed to go into labor again and will have a scheduled C-section a few weeks early. Maria also took Creighton instruction before they married and discovered that she has a medical condition that makes her prone to miscarriage. She got a shot of progesterone on her wedding day, and got pregnant with Therese shortly after that. She has gotten some this time for this baby, and it gives us all much more peace. I trusted in the Lord's plan when I went to be with her in Texas in her first trimester, as twice we have been together to share a miscarriage! How I have prayed for my girls to not have this issue after I had my 7 losses with the 5 here with me, but it looks like I have through Maria now understood my diagnosis - polycystic!
The two girls playing with Lilly outside the window on a blustery day. Nancy is off with all but Luke to story time at the Library in town. Luke is taking a nice nap, so grandma is blessed with a quiet house for the first time in over a week! All the close time in the car - 4 days! And then together with family here, there and everywhere! I guess I did skip out on going swimming in Texas and had a few hours to myself then. It kind of amazes me at how full LIFE is right now! Nancy described the kids here and coming as the "herd" and I guess when you live on the farm that is not a bad description at all! It is speaking of the volume and for that we are grateful and joyful!

The Community of the Lamb/little Sisters and Little Brothers shared with us that since a couple days before Christmas they have had a homeless family living with them - when they built their little Monastery last year they added a small living space for "guests" to stay with them when they had a need. This family has a 16 year old and a 2 year old, and they really had no contact with church or faith. The Little Sisters were sharing that having them there living with them - they have become like family to them, and it has been a sweet natural way to share their love which comes from Jesus with them. They observe their life and share breakfast with them before they go off to work or school... they will be leaving for their own place in a few weeks. They were describing how the little 2 year old crosses herself in a little girl way before she eats, and prays with them! Imagine how this time with the Community will forever change and touch this family! One thing that the Community of the Lamb does is embrace poverty in their own lives and give great honor to the poor around them. They choose to live in poor areas of town and beg for their food from the poor!
Little 2 year old Augustine has a very reverent attitude when it comes to prayer! He is aware that God is there with us and that He should be recognized! He repeats the prayers when mommy and daddy say them, and always ends the meal prayer with "the fruit of thy womb, Jesus." So endearing to hear his little boy voice and watch his face so serious and happy! At this meal the little sisters sang the song we have gotten from them "Bless the Lord, O my soul!" When we gather as a family we sing this to remember our Hallel and the family she has blessed us with through the Community of the Lamb!
Jesus, thank you for all you show us in your Word, in your Church, in our domestic Church/family is where we learn most in how to die to self and give without counting the cost! Jesus, we trust in YOU. Amen and Hallelujah
