Sending off the men

Three of my men... husband, son and son-in-law are heading on the road to Emmaus to encounter Jesus and recognize Him more and more in their lives!
John was honored last weekend for his 25th birthday with a Kansas City procession with beautiful little children and lots of cheesecake complete with 25 candles.  We received the written report from Mayo today and both of his doctors weighed in with his changes in his brain that could signify "cognitive changes."  As John said tonight we will wait and see... he did give his one month notice at his work, and continues to ask the Lord - where do you want me?  Bishop could be finding him a situation to discern in.  John will be giving a talk at this retreat on how Scripture has impacted him on his journey - Jesus, was recognized on the road when he broke the bread and shared the Eucharist with those on the road, but their hearts burned within them when he broke open the Word and showed all the scriptures that spoke of HIM!  I will have a rosary in my pocket as I work this weekend for all those that are there to find a closer walk with HIM... most especially John as he stands at this crossroads of LIFE.
Paul is attending the weekend for the first time!  He is a wonderful father - last Sunday although he was lecturing and Ruth was working at the hospital, he had his 5 kids at the 8a mass!  That says a lot right there.  I will be praying that he will find a quiet inner place where he can find the special strength and direction we all need to shine as a light and to raise LIGHTS for the world!  Jesus, we trust in YOU, and leave all these men that said Yes to attend and serve this weekend.  Keep all things good at the homes and work they left behind.  Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
The men in our lives make the world go round!
