Pat and I are at that age when couples are starting to go to warm places for the winter, but we have decided that our trips will be centered around our family. We are hoping to drive to Texas for a few days here before Pat starts calving. We will spend some of that time in prayer as we go down the road together, and lots of it visiting. There have ben trips when the radio is not even turned on. With our 3 married daughters open to LIFE - it is a blessing to have the little ones of various sizes and now 2 of the 3 are pregnant. They only missed being pregnant together by 2 months! And once again we will have 3 new little ones within a year of each other! With all these examples of the little ones that Jesus calls us to pattern ourselves after... well, we are richly blessed with 3 one year olds and a new wave coming behind them. Our oldest grandchildren also teach us the beauty of loving and following Jesus in their lives also. I wish I could show you.... but Mary, who will receive her first Communion this year made a beautiful picture of a little sister complete with her blue habit, and said that Jesus told her that she could be a little sister someday.
Last night doing the dishes together... we talked about The Community of the Lamb and how we would love to go back there soon. How blessed we are to have that in our lives! Well, I must get ready for work - go with me, Lord, I am weak and need you at my side touching the residents through me with patience and caring.
Jesus, today in the Gospel you sent out the apostles... I am sure that they were unsure and worried too about how they would do. I am sure that you came to help them when they called out in their weakness. May we always turn each worry and concern into a prayer throughout our days. We long for those times when we go to the deserted place of prayer and find the strength and trust we need. We place all our burdens and fears at your feet. Jesus, we trust in YOU. Amen and Hallelujah
