Leaving snow drifts for sand dunes and mountains

We have arrived travel weary after 20 hours on the road.  We are in El Paso on the Ft Bliss base.  The sun was shining brightly as the cold temps of around zero was our sendoff!
The beautiful moon was rising over the mountains as we got about 2 hours out in New Mexico - then Texas!  A very different view for us to see mountains for the first time!  We watched the thermometer rise all day from mid 20's in Kansas to 70 in the New Mexico high plains desert!  The kids were thrilled to enjoy the warmth and no snow!  Just at 3p when Simon and David are waiting for the bus in their snow pants, jackets, hats, mittens, and boots!  Here we were with the air conditioning on in the van, and going out to run around in shirtsleeves!  We felt very lucky!
The cousins are getting reacquainted… supper, some baths, running around and bed!  Boy!  Does bed sound good!!  Jesus, thank you for safe travels,  Jesus, we trust in YOU.  Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
The two 5 year olds are happy to see each other and enjoy the warm shirt sleeve weather.  Feeling tired and ready for a new adventure called family times in Texas!
