"It's a wonderful world", because of...

It has been a great summer around here!  John has been so excited and happy to be in the summer musical here in town... his last part was 7 years ago in Grease!  How he loves the stage and always has, so to be able to have a modest but funny part in this play has been a very healing and assuring gift!  I was able to take John's 94 year old grandmother last night and we thoroughly enjoyed it!  How John has longed to be able to enjoy this part of his former life and to once again bring humor and joy to the stage in his quirky way!
He shared that he has fears of forgetting lines or when he has an entrance, but he did wonderfully and the audience loved him.  He touched all of our hearts from even before it started with a solo he dedicated to the amazing lady that has been working with his rusty voice with free singing lessons almost daily!  He shared with the audience that he has not really been singing on stage since 7 years ago in Grease and brain cancer 5 years ago beginning on this day!  He sang "It's a wonderful world" and it was quite touching and sweet!  So appropriate for John to sing this - I know he means it from the bottom of his heart and soul, and being back on stage has certainly allowed him to share his LIGHT and JOY!  On this feast of Corpus Christi - The Body and Blood of Christ - this is truly why and reason for our wonderful world!  Off to mass with John and grandma - we are taking it easy today with the later mass.  Bless-bless, Barb
