A Krusteaz kind of day/Overhelmed by HIM..."Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand, and touched him!"

It was August of 2009, and we had just arrived in France.. a miracle indeed!!!  John and I had decided in 24 hours that we could make the trip for Susan to take her habit and change her name!  Nancy and Father Craig had arrived just ahead of us and joined in our JOY and amazement at the way the Lord was at work in our lives!

Driving back from Minneota rectory last night... after dropping off a few things for Fr Craig to take to Hallel and The Community in KC, I was flooded with all the ways the Lord has touched us through the journeys of our children!  Feeling his loving touch upon us was so strong and knowing of the powerful week of "rest and prayer" that Father has ahead of him and with the added bonus of having Hallel there this year!

John's hair still has the droplets of water in it from asking them to pour water on his head, "because that is where I need the healing."

Father Craig there for John and Susan was so amazing for them and for us!  He took John through the baths of Lourdes, heard his confession and said mass for us in the Church above the miraculous springs of healing.  John fell head over heels in love with Mary, our Spiritual Mother, and it continues to this day!

John put on the cross of brain cancer and walking with the help of his two sisters.. one in her new habit from just the day before and her new name? Hallel which is familiar from Hallelujah and means total praise of God.  "Whenever people say my name they are giving God all the praise."  said Hallel
Check out Psalms 145-150 which are the Hallel Psalms!
I just felt compelled to make Krusteaz this morning with all the excitement knowing that Father Craig will be having some healing and gloriously heavenly time with The Community of the Lamb over the next week!

There is such a sweet and special story about my sending one of these huge packages of pancake mix to Hallel for Easter a few months before John's brain cancer struck!  I knew that it only takes water to make, so I sent it to her after she had mentioned in one of her rare letters that they had pancakes, but they weren't anything like Krusteaz.  When we arrived in August and shown to our room... each morning I was shown the kitchen down the hall and a huge bag of pancake mix was given to me so that I could make John, I , and Nancy pancakes in a cast iron frying pan for breakfast.  They assured me that it was another bag, but they were just being kind, I am sure.  Now, whenever I think of our time there... we usually have Krusteaz to celebrate the precious memory and the miracle of it all!
So many blessings!!!  So funny that pancakes can be a way of celebrating how the Lord has reached out and touched us!

Today in the Gospel from Mark I... Jesus has a leper kneel before him and beg to be made clean...
A leper came to him and kneeling down begged him and said,
"If you wish, you can make me clean."
Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand,
touched the leper, and said to him,
"I do will it. Be made clean."
The leprosy left him immediately, and he was made clean."
He touches us over and over and we feel his mercy and love!  We are asked to then share that same love and mercy with all those around us... most especially those closest to us in our domestic Church/family!
A house full last night!  Love to have the dining room filled with grandkids...
John feeding Goddaughter, Joy, who was sitting up to the table like a big girl in the booster seat.  Do you think I made enough spaghetti?  Maybe.

It is so fun this year to send our homemade canning down to KC... knowing that Hallel can enjoy it along with all the postulants and little sisters!  I sent down some spaghetti sauce that we make for them as I heard from one of the postulants that they had spaghetti noodles with salsa and Velveeta cheese on top.  Next time they will have spaghetti sauce!
Youngest granddaughter Joy looking cute in her new top after having her 9 month doctors appointment.  "She is 70th percentile in height and weight.  The doctor says that my milk is so rich that my babies are usually really big until they get off that.  But she is such a good baby, that I don't have to nurse her all the time like some of the others."  She is a gift from above!  Our second red head grandchild!
Romeo and Joy - we love our red heads!

Jesus, there is so much filling me to the brim with your love for me!  May I return that without counting the cost to all those I meet this day... most especially those in my domestic church/family.  Go with all those on the road or in the cold this day.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
Father Craig leading us in a graveside service for our grandson, Maximilian, a week after Thanksgiving.  He died on Thanksgiving at 20 weeks in the womb.  I was there with Nancy to help her, and the strong feelings of my own losses came in and through me!  Bless-bless, Barbara Mary Luke

Newly habited and new name from Susan now is Hallel!  The Vigil of the Queenship of Mary in Saint Pierre, France on August 22, 2009!  Miracle of Miracles!

Father Craig anointing John just moments before his brain surgery!  Talk about this amazing young man/cousin being always there for us... guardian angel in the flesh!  My heart is full as the Lord reaches out and touches us through this priest, who represents Christ to all he encounters!
