I was gifted with a trip with them to introduce Jude to his aunt, Little Sister Hallel! We visited the Grotto to pray together and visit the place of pilgrimage and healing dedicated by Archbishop Joseph Naumann as the new Monastery of the Little Brothers, Light of Mary the Mother of heaven and earth.
Hallel asked me about the situation of being in close quarters due to my parents' needs now, and the resulting tension and ups and downs that occur. How I regret those words and angers! Hallel took her mom to task and deep! "Lay all of your issues at the feet of Jesus, mother. You know what that means right?" "Confession?" "Yes." She was the wind beneath my wings that got me up early to reconciliation and to mass!
I have been longing to get to Reconciliation, but it is never very easy to make happen and to face up to! It has been months for me, but after hanging up from Hallel, I remembered that the young priest that is here always sits in the confessional for a half hour before mass. So it was quite easy to make happen and so wonderful, too!!!
Father gave me 5 Hail Marys to pray for my penance, and as I was sitting there before mass... I looked over at this stunning statue of Mary, and the words of St Teresa of Calcutta came to me..."Mary, the Mother of Jesus, be a mother to me now."
Lots has changed since, and I felt sorry for myself sitting there in church realizing that I have really lost both of my earthly mothers on many levels. Pat's mother is with me from heaven, and my mother has become very dependent and childlike. We all have our heavenly Mother, and how she pours abundant love and comfort upon this sinful and sorrowful woman!
As I returned home I was gifted with praying morning prayer/the office with mom and dad. Mom with her eyes closed, but after praying with my Deacon father for 40+ years there is much that comes from memory and she would join us praying.
They rejoiced with me knowing the Gospel for today from my patron Saint Luke.. the woman, who washed his feet with her tears and dried them with her hair! So much LOVE and unconditional forgiveness!
"Now there was a sinful woman in the city
who learned that he was at table in the house of the Pharisee.
Bringing an alabaster flask of ointment,
she stood behind him at his feet weeping
and began to bathe his feet with her tears.
Then she wiped them with her hair,
kissed them, and anointed them with the ointment..."
Luke 7
How blessed are we to have this amazing spot of healing and Archbishop prayed that miracles much like at Lourdes would happen here! Hallel words of Faith and taking her mom deeper last night on her 34th birthday were such a gift to me this day of tears!

The tears have been falling copiously today and filled with the Truth of Jesus in this amazing Gospel today I rejoice! Sharing with my mother after prayer and breakfast she gave me a mother's unconditional LOVE and forgiveness, and I was greatly blessed to know that I still have my mother with me and it is a blessing no matter the cost or condition. I love her and am so glad for all my time with her and dad together!
Jesus, how we are filled to overflowing with your unconditional LOVE and forgiveness if only we place them at your feet and be truly sorry for having offended you and our brothers. May we die to self so that you may live in us and that we may serve without counting the cost. Thank you for your Church and your Sacraments that bring us LIFE and healing. Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
