My gamma! My Gamma!/Home again...The beam in my eye

Joy and her kitten in the front new picture window... the etched angel Maria put there over 20 years ago is now gone.

When I called and talked to her mom this morning I could hear a happy Joy calling out to me, and talking about her kitties!

Ruth told me that when she hung up the phone that Joy said; "My gamma, my gamma!"  How I love to have her love poured out for me... this undeserving grandma in so many ways!  Unconditional LOVE!
Such a lucky girl on the farm!  Joy loves to be outside helping mom and is a small Ruth, who could embrace our life so much that she will have it with her family someday!

St John Chrysostom today, golden tongue!  The Gospel is about the beam in our eyes, and St John spoke about how we are gifted with total healing and unconditional forgiveness if only we take advantage of the Sacrament of Reconciliation!  I do not do this often enough, and why?  As St John pointed out we are not asked to confess in the center of a court hearing surrounded by those judging us... we can bring it to Jesus through the priest, who already knows our sins and leave them there as we go forth healed and forgiven!

Why pray tell are you ashamed, why do you blush to tell your sins?  Do you tell them to a man, such as might reproach you?  Do you confess them to a fellow servant, such as might make them public?  No, you expose them to the Master, the Guardian, to the Benefactor of mankind, to the Physician... Unless you tell the magnitude of your debt, you do not experience the abundance of grace.  "I do not oblige you," he says,"to come into the middle of a theater and be surrounded by many witnesses.  Tell your sin to me...so that I may heal your wound and release you from your pain."
St John Crysostom (407)
We had fake plans to can today, but with the 8 inches of rain and no sun for the week the tomatoes are not ripening enough.  Now we have moved it to Monday!
John is taking Jude to his other grandparents so that we can crack the books... I am off for a day of Anatomy study with my son.  It reminds me so much of all the reading we did together when he was a little boy.  He was the youngest and by over 3 years as I lost two between Susan and John, so we had a special time reading together in the evenings... side by side on the pillows!  How we are soldiering on with this difficult course!

Jesus, how you love us unconditionally we do not understand, but we are lost without you directing our lives!  May we die to self so that we may look to you for your plan and embrace our Most Cherished Cross and follow after you.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barb
My parents married 70 years and now at a crossroads asking the Lord to show them His plan for them  We trust!
