Oldest child of Ruth and Paul is Simon! This was Father's Day after mass.
Ruth, Paul and I can all relate to Simon as we too were the oldest child in our families! Blazing the trails for the rest. Simon started high school this year, and had to learn the ropes like his lock on his locker was a challenge. I can relate to the fear that comes with being the first Simon, but also there is so much love lavished upon us as the first child and that is the wind beneath our wings!
Today is Simon's 15th birthday! Happy Birthday oldest grandson, Simon!
Things don't come easy for Simon as he is in the autism spectrum, but he knows his strengths and he shares them willingly. His voice is his instrument and he loves to sing including leading singing at mass some Sundays with his sister, Mary at his side. He tried out for the musical at high school and has a part in the chorus where he will share his gift and meet people that love to sing like he does! He loves math and robotics and the modular scheduling seems suited for him to give him the time to concentrate and get his work done at school. He is adjusting well!
It was really great to take Simon along to KC with me to spend a few days with Hallel and The Community of the Lamb this summer. Hallel is showing him how to spell Simon in Polish after mass in the Polish Catholic Church up the hill from the Monastery. Simon helps Jesus carry the cross the 5th Station.
Simon is in the Bible often - most noticeably is Simon, who then became St Peter the first Pope and beginning of The Church!
Yesterday in the Gospel from Luke the pharisee's house where the woman washed his feet with her tears was Simon! The good and the bad, but a name that resounds often from the Word of God. There is a Simon stain glass window in Holy Redeemer. Our grandkids take a lot of joy in hearing their names in mass and in the Word of God!
Prayer and dishes is the life of Little Sister Hallel and The Community... Simon got a true taste of that life while we spent some time with them. We were able to live right there in the Monastery with Hallel and The Community.
Dishes crew and Simon and the Hallel's nieces and nephews helped with making the food too!
Simon helped out mowing for the Sisters... he has become the biggest helper with grandpa on the farm this summer. Thank you, Simon.
All around the outside and in the middle too!
Mealtime with Hallel holding Hector
Breaking open the Word with the grandkids - Simon was in our group but missed the picture. We reflected on Jesus feeding the 5,000. So special to hear the kids share how Jesus in His Word spoke to them.
A night spent in prayer at the Grotto! Hallel had her birthday 2 days ago and Simon has always been close to her heart! The first grandchild and just 2 days after her birthday!

Hallel with Simon close to 10 years ago in KC ! She prays for him and always asks for updates when she calls. Simon is close to her heart!
He has reached her height now!
At the Grotto of the Nativity of Mary and Jesus in late June... Hallel shared with us how Mary brought Jesus/LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT into the world with her "yes"
At the pig show at the State Fair with sister, Mary. They are good together!
A year and a half apart and a year apart in school. Simon will show Mary how to manage the high school next year. They are good for each other's souls!

A quick visit and overnight with Nancy and Bill in Delano... hubby came up to pick me up.
The day has escaped me with the trip home including a visit along the way with my sister-in-law, and my 7 sisters hour of prayer.. the readings were shared on our trip along with morning prayer, and lots of good stuff!
The first reading St Paul to Timothy - I Timothy 6... He reminds us that we need to look to what Jesus and His Bride, The Church teach us as the Truth. Not to pay heed to things that are not from The Church's teachings and truths! It is easy and all we need do is believe it all sink, line and hook!
George and Josephine with grandpa...
Bernadette in her Catholic School uniform and some nice tote bags with her mom's logo - Catholic Sprouts on them. This is Nancy's pod cast and she shares each morning with children on following Jesus, Mary and The Church!

So excited about how EXCITED you all are about the Mysteries of the Rosary Board Book Set. 🥳!🤩!🥰!

Bernadette with her purple bag!
Grandpa with a bunch of kids talking about the Saints and the Mysteries of the Rosary... love to share our Faith with JOY!
The bean fields are starting to ripen with the warm week we have had! Fall in the air except that now it is feeling like summer again!
The gleaming tabernacle beaconed me - my Jesus there as I lift up Fr Todd for an hour. This arrangement was so beautiful and was from a young woman's funeral today. She was only 53 and died from a brain tumor - this arrangement said "Daughter and Mother" as her mother is still living.
The Cross, the tabernacle containing Jesus, and the Altar on which the Bread and the Wine become His Body and Blood! So much beauty and Truth in The Church!
Jesus, we are so filled with LOVE as you give us more than we can ever take in with each new day in your Church! May we die to self so that you may live in us and that we may serve those around us without counting the cost. Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
