10 years later today Pat is 67 and is still recovering from a torn shoulder, which reminded him that he is not super human. He is slowly recovering and we hope that he will be back to 100% with a lot of hard work.
For a few months now the 3 boys will all be 7 until Nov 1st when Luke will turn 8. Dominic and Romeo are best cousin buddies and are super silly and sweet together!
My Most Cherished Cross with Rose and the weaned calves about 5 years ago. He makes my heart go pitty pat!
The Michigan picture by the lighthouse with Rose Cry a lot... 8 years and we have gone from 7 grandchildren to 20 going on 22 with 2 in the womb. Look at the faces of the others with a screaming baby... too funny!
Yes, Pat's birthday is such a special feast day! Our Lady of Sorrows!
Sweet Joy on her second day of Preschool! Grandma got to take her in today, and it was super special to see her sweet smile at her teachers in what was a very familiar place - the kindergarten room where her mom went half days 36 years ago, and her aunts and uncle after her! How we love our Catholic School!
Leading the way for grandma - "the room with the pumpkins" she told me!
Big girl, who will soon be a big sister to her baby brother!
Have a wonderful day, sweet girl!
Breakfast in the sun!!! So bright this morning in Ruth's wonderful farm house - the one she grew up in, but she made it her own 6 years ago.
How we include the life in the womb! It makes me recall the moving of the mountain to France for Hallel's final vows - "I promise unto death." We included our 3 little boys in the womb! Nancy brought George, Maria brought Hector, and Bobbi brought Jude! They were blessed along with the 21 of us there for Hallel!
The 3 boys together in July here on the farm and dressed alike thanks to their wacky grandma! They were blessed mightily in the womb while in France for this huge wonderful time of Hallel's wedding to Christ! LOVE to think of Ruth and Nancy's little ones being blessed mightily at this time of retreat!Mary at the foot of the Cross - LOVE! The Gospel today is one of my favorites and makes me ponder how it is overlooked by most Protestant faiths!
Gospel Jn 19:25-27
Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother
and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas,
and Mary Magdalene.
When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved
he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.”
Then he said to the disciple,
“Behold, your mother.”
And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.
Yes, we bring her into our homes and we are blessed with peace and comfort no matter what we have to face! Her rosary prayer brings immediate peace to me!
Sequence (Optional)
At the cross her station keeping,
Stood the mournful Mother weeping,
Close to Jesus to the last.
Through her heart, his sorrow sharing,
All his bitter anguish bearing,
Now at length the sword had passed.
Oh, how sad and sore distressed
Was that Mother highly blessed
Of the sole begotten One!
Christ above in torment hangs,
She beneath beholds the pangs
Of her dying, glorious Son.
Is there one who would not weep,
‘Whelmed in miseries so deep,
Christ’s dear Mother to behold?
Can the human heart refrain
From partaking in her pain,
In that mother’s pain untold?
Bruised, derided, cursed, defiled,
She beheld her tender Child,
All with bloody scourges rent.
For the sins of his own nation
Saw him hang in desolation
Till his spirit forth he sent.
O sweet Mother! font of love,
Touch my spirit from above,
Make my heart with yours accord.
Make me feel as you have felt;
Make my soul to glow and melt
With the love of Christ, my Lord.
Holy Mother, pierce me through,
In my heart each wound renew
Of my Savior crucified.
Let me share with you his pain,
Who for all our sins was slain,
Who for me in torments died.
Let me mingle tears with you,
Mourning him who mourned for me,
All the days that I may live.
By the cross with you to stay,
There with you to weep and pray,
Is all I ask of you to give.
Virgin of all virgins blest!
Listen to my fond request:
Let me share your grief divine.
Let me to my latest breath,
In my body bear the death
Of that dying Son of yours.
Wounded with his every wound,
Steep my soul till it has swooned
In his very Blood away.
Be to me, O Virgin, nigh,
Lest in flames I burn and die,
In his awful judgment day.
Christ, when you shall call me hence,
Be your Mother my defense,
Be your cross my victory.
While my body here decays,
May my soul your goodness praise,
Safe in heaven eternally.
Amen.(Alleluia).
A blossom to capture my attention as I pray, and my kittens...The kittens love to have me join them outside..
Scampering and playing while I pray and watch for big white trucks over on Hwy 59 in the distance - dad sure loved to comment - "O look there is a big white one!"
My playful companions makes me smile at their antics!
The sun on my huge 100 year old Cottonwood tree and the golden bean field behind.
Felix is attracted to my rosary beads moving...
Joining in prayer in his own way. It is a good peaceful place for my two kittens to grow old and have a happy healthy life. Our hearts are broken for George's Godmother, Emily, who died after a short battle with cancer leaving behind her husband, Charlie, and 5 children. Such a wonderful loving and beloved woman!
George will now join Bernadette, Nancy, and Hallel, who all lost their Godmothers at a very young age, and pray for them in heaven, and know of their prayers for their God children from heaven. We find it so hard to understand the whys of these heart breaking losses. It seems to be the time to say -"Jesus, I trust in you."
Romeo today in Fort Lewis, WA with his #7 pancake to celebrate his big birthday today! WE love you Rome!!!As Hallel told me on the phone the other day - "Mom, it will all turn out well in the end. Maybe not the way we want or expect, but it will be well."
Pope Benedict XVI and mom today... "Passion centered"
Yes!!! How true, and we cling to her beads! Bless-bless, Barbara
