Greeted at home by Our Lady of Mt Carmel, laudry, heat and vegetables...

Flooded with many memories of our two weeks away in Michigan and capped off with a day absolutely full of FAMILY yesterday in the Cities!  We are home on the farm - Pat and John are out picking up bales, and I have been doing a mountain of wash as well as downloading and editing over 1,200 pictures from the last two weeks in between... I walked over to the garden from the clothesline and filled the clothes basket with many vegetables and the three of us had a lunch of vegetables - fresh tomatoes, cukes, squash, beans and lettuce!  It was fresh and yummy - just growing a few minutes before we ate our feast!  And such a beautiful feast of Our Lady greeted us at breakfast this morning reminding us of the lesson Our Lady shows us in our vocation of prayer that each one of us is called to..."Our Lady of Mt Carmel." the lovely place where the prophet Elijah dwelt in service of the Word of God, expresses a sense of the beauty, silence, and prayer that characterize Mary, the mother of our Redeemer."  See http://www.magnificat.com/
We had a new member sharing our week and experiencing Michigan for the first ever time - little Rose Ida - now 2 1/2 monthes old and very special to us all!  I am filled with the craziness of returning home after being away for 2 weeks - I think that I will take Our Lady's example of silence and prayer to the roar of the lawnmower.  Jesus, thank you for your love for Family,Faith, and the Farm... thank you for the combination of the 3 in my life, and especially bless our little sweet David Lanoue today on his 4th birthday!  Jesus and Our Lady - we trust in you.  Amen and Halleluia

Bless-bless, Barb
"Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me.  Whoever finds his life will lose it , and whoever loses his life for my sake will save it."
Matt 10 - the Gospel for today!  May we give our all for YOU, O Lord!

Happy Birthday dear sweet loving David!  These 4 years have been wonderful with you in the world and your love of the farm and your new little sister warms our hearts!
