Yes, this is Susan getting Christ from the Vicar of Christ! I have discovered that for my kids this is a small world. I think this was about Susan/Hallel's 4th trip to Rome, and I know that she has been there probably 3 times more with the Community of the Lamb! She is living a marvelous life... although she has embraced the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience! Yet, in my humaness I miss my youngest daugther very much - sometimes more than others. We just received a wonderful note on the Christmas letter mailed out a week or so ago, and she shared how wonderful it was to meet and greet the family that she loves - her earthly family! I had been praying for a "real hug" for the last year or so. Getting her call telling us that she would be here in the US for 3 weeks in November was such an answer to prayers! Yet getting her short note along with the requests for our prayers - gave me a twinge of missing her more than other times!
I also miss Hallel's Godmother, Mary. She is my sister, who died of lymphoma at 28 years old - 36 years ago in July of 1986. If you think that lymphoma sounds familiar - that it because 3 1/2 years ago John, our 20 year old son, had lymphoma of the brain! When I heard that was it was lymphoma - it took all of my strength to keep any faith, and hope, and trust that John could survive! I had to keep putting it in the hands of the Lord over and over - every minute of the day and night I had to keep telling myself that Jesus was in control in the midst of the storm! He dis heal John, and Mary is now on her way to heaven where she is watching out for me,her daughter, and her two Goddaughters, Nancy and Susan! Mary is truly gone from this world, and I have not been able to be with her for 36 years, but she is united to me as a sister that I loved and shared the farm and Catholic Faith with! Hallel is across the ocean and she too is united to me by Faith and Family! Hallel tells us that we are united with her in the Eucharist, as we are with Mary, as well as my sister, Mary, and all the angles, saints, and Communion of Saints as Heaven and earth come together!
