John and Joe posing with St Olaf outside the chapel in SPS. Prayers answered in making a way for us to spend time with them - Joe was in the Cities for a quick weekend for a Baptism and John had been on a weeks retreat and it was his birthday too! Today is a glorious feastday of St Agatha! Susan/Hallel debated between Agnes or Agatha as her patron saint, while she was visiting in Rome. They both were young women that have given their love and lives to Jesus... "Behold, now she follows the Lamb who was crucified for us, powerful in virginity, modesty her offering , a sacrifice on the altar of chastity." Entrance antiphon for today's mass! It speaks of Hallel's call to life as a Bride of Christ! She is a true follower of the Lamb in her beautiful Community of the Lamb!
Walking into the Sun/Son for breakfast after morning prayer... So delightful to share time with Family! This wonderful message arrived from the Community of the Lamb in their Christmas letter last week!
"Here is another echo of the mission of the Community in Kansas told to our brother Jean-Claude: "It was the Sunday of the Lamb, brothers and sisters and lay people were gathered together. Just like us, they find themselves in the face of the great drifting of our civilization: the laws in favor of abortion, euthanasia, assisted suicide, of the use of the embryo as experimental matter, of the upheaval of marriage and family, the crazy disorder of the economy, fanaticisms. At the roots, a return to paganism with a will to be liberated from Christianity. And a lay person speaks up: he has understood, the mystery of the Lamb must be incarnated humbly, poorly, in families that make the heart of their home, their neighborhood, a place of adoration. The country must be filled, filled with the secret joy, with this strong hope, with this invicible faith. The Lamb, Savior of the world, The Lamb who takes away the sin of the world, the Lamb who gives us his PEACE."
Jesus, we know that you are at work in this world, in our lives, and in our domestic Church/family! We see you in those that surround us! Jesus, may your Truth be recognized as we follow after You and your Bride, The Church, into the world. Hallel shared in her personal note that they had gone begging in a little village close to St Pierre..."we met only people who were Catholic once, but no longer believe. Pray for all those lost sheep. Jesus is looking for them and they do not yet know it." Jesus, we long to help people to wake up and come alive! Jesus, use us to your honor and glory! You touched a child and brought her back to LIFE in the Gospel today, and a woman came behind you and touched your garment believing that she would be healed and she was! Jesus, we trust in YOU. Amen and Halleluia
"let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfector of faith." Hebrews 12
"Daughter, your faith has saved you. Go in peace and be cured of your affliction." Jesus in the Gospel today to the woman sick for 12 years! Thank you, Lord!
Answered prayers of a parent for their child!
"He took the child's mother and father and those who were with him and entered the room where the child was. He took the child by the hand and said to her...'Little girl, I say to you, arise!' The girl arose immediately and walked around. At that they were utterly astouded." Mark 5
