The new John...

John has taken up the Ukelele... He thought that it would be good for his hand coordination that is still affected by his brain biopsy 3 1/2 years ago.  It would be just good to have him get more music to fill his time.  I regret my lack and think that anyone that can add that to their lives is doing great!  He posed for me with his new addition.
Not surprising - I did a painting for John's birthday card.  I got the idea for this one from a Russian landscape artist, who had his picture on the front of the Feb 2012 Magnificat!  It is simple and kind of lamely mine, but the commentary written on the picture really was a beautiful thing..."In the chiaroscuro (treatment of light and shade) of our lives, our thoughts and actions are like wildflowers: no sooner do they bloom than they wilt and whither away.  To imbue them with a dimension of eternity, we must become again like little children with unconditional faith, who have the simplicity of soul to place everything into the hands of Jesus.
The analogy of discreet and fleeting woodland flowers reminds Christians that having brilliant thoughts or doing extraordinary deeds is not what matters.  In our humble everyday life, what really counts is that in whatever we do, we do it out of LOVE.  That means that we make everything we do a gift to the Father, though Jesus."  Pierre-Marie Dumont

The Eucharistic chapel... Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barb
