We are excited for the Baptism day of our little 2 week old Luke tomorrow morning at the 8a mass here at the same Church where his mom and siblings were baptized as well as his grandpa and all his siblings! There is a rich heritage and tradition going on at Holy Redeemer for the Verly family for 4 generations! Ruth and Paul are members there as they live in Marshall - just 3 miles from our farm, but Paul grew up in Milroy - a town about 15 miles away and was baptized there. Simon was baptized there too! What really matters about all of this is that we share the same Faith as a family and that is Catholic! This tradition is also very special and is a firm structure on which is built our domestic Church/family! It was wonderful that our lack luster Church was given a wonderful facelift and is now really beautiful inside! We take a lot of personal pride in this special structure - house of God that has been the place where the sacraments have taken place for the 35 years of the Pat and Barb Verly family. We were married at the Basilica of St Mary in Minneapolis - my home parish and then were planted here on the farm and shared the Sacraments here since Ruth and Paul live here too and continue on with the family traditions, but Nancy is in the Cities and Maria is in El Paso, Texas. In the places they live they are strong members of the Catholic Church there and find the Sacraments for their family there! We try to gather wherever we can as a family unit to support each other and celebrate these great powerful steps of Faith!
Washed clean in the waters of Baptism tomorrow for little Luke! Welcome to the Faith Family we share with one another!
