A shared article about the thanksgivings that happened before the Puritan one that made Thanksgiving famous... These were elsewhere in the new Land and mass/Eucharist was the focal point with the Spanish Catholics and the American Indians! As the end of the article says - And let everyone remember that “Thanksgiving” in Greek is Eucharistia. Thus, the Body and Blood of Christ is the true “Thanksgiving Meal”. see http://taylormarshall.com/2013/11/6-interesting-catholic-thanksgiving.html
The beauty of a table set with LOVE for a gathering of family in Wisconsin yesterday - Thanks Angela! Also thanks for the reminder at mass we shared to start the day... that we are called to Thank the Lord more and maybe ask less. For sure we are called to remember to give Him the thanks for all He does for us! Filled with the True Banquet of Heaven and earth we are blessed to be HIS alone, and to share that great LOVE and unconditional forgiveness with one another!
Thank you, Lord, for all that you give us... Jesus, we trust in YOU. Amen and Hallelujah
Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
"Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away." Jesus to us this day in the Gospel - Luke 21
Dad shared with us his history and we were touched, once again by the fingerprint of God upon his life and now to the lives of his family! So filled with Thanksgiving!
My brothers singing - Ave Maria!
