This greeted me on facebook this morning - I get wonderful pictures of Blessed John Paul II - soon to be a Saint on Divine Mercy Sunday - April 27, 2014! There are many every day and lots I have never seen! How he loved Our Lady and devoted his LIFE and prayer to her. "Totus Tuus was Pope John Paul II's apostolic motto. It is a Latin phrase meaning "totally yours" and expressed his personal Consecration to Mary based on the spiritual approach of Saint Louis de Montfort and the Mariology in his works.[1] The pontiff explained the meaning further in his book Crossing the Threshold of Hope where he defines it as not only an expression of piety but also of devotion that is deeply rooted in the Mystery of the Blessed Trinity.[2"
I am blessed with 3 wonderful mothers! Pat's mother, Ann, just celebrated 94 years, and has been so much my teacher in all ways of the farm and family! She lives here close to us and has been so supportive and involved in all that our family has done over these 35 years! So gracious and giving and kind!
My mother, Nancy, has taught me all things Catholic and Family! How could I not embrace the value of LIFE with these two women showing me the Truth? Pat is the middle of 10 and I am the oldest of 12! On our first date we spoke of wanting to have a large family - 12, and that we succeeded with 5 with us and 7 in heaven! My mother had a devotion to Mary, Mother of Heaven and earth, and through that our family had a huge conversion - all 13 of us took our first Communion 42 years ago on Christmas Eve - my dad leaving the Protestant ministry and eventually becoming a deacon in the Catholic Church! For the entire story complete with pictures you can check it out on the page I devoted to this... http://familysoulstory.blogspot.com/p/the-amazing-story-of-13-becoming.html
Motherhood is highly valued in our family! My 3rd Mother of Heaven and Earth showed us how we are to say "YES!" to LIFE! She brought LIFE into the world with her humble willingness to allow the Holy Spirit to work within her! I lift my own family to her each day, and now with the new LIFE in Nancy we are surrounding it with our LOVE and continuous prayers. I need to go and start my rosary on my half hour trip to work at the nursing home this morning! Lord, with your wonderful Mother at your side intercede for all LIFE in danger of being destroyed through abortion this day. May we make a difference in all that we do. Jesus, we trust in YOU. Amen and Hallelujah
Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
