This seems very appropriate on the day before Thanksgiving... we are reminded of all those that are hurting and need us to reach out to them. What is more terrible than to know that there are kids that are cold and hungry? This is especially in focus today when we all know that the food is going to make our tables groan with the immensity of it all! I would ask that you go to my daughter, Nancy's blog, and read more of the details of this effort to put food in their mouths. Jesus, asks us to not gorge ourselves with all the wonderful food, but to think of those in need! Through the art of giving kids of all ages are asked to do some art project and scan it and put it on line in a slide show and family and friends can contribute to it much like a walk-a-thon- the money goes through http://www.crosscatholic.org/ to get the money to feed those without and in need! This Cross was made by my 4 year old grandson, David, last year in preschool. He wanted grandma to have it and it is displayed with pictures of all my grandkids - when I pray my rosary each day I look at it and them... it transports me to a very warm glowing inner temple of PRAYER/Faith/Family/Farm! I would bid without end for this precious item too!
Finally a very powerfully wonderful gift given me by Mary. She had a God-experience one evening looking at the sunset on a summers night this past summer! In the glorious golden clouds she saw Heaven - a Cross and A Church... it burned into her young soul and she immediately went into the office on getting home and put it to paper with pencil followed by crayon! She wanted to give it to grandma! It brings tears to my eyes as I share this - to know that they wanted to share this profound moment of Faith with me, and gift me with this vision of Glory! I would bid without end for this most precious picture!

How wonderful to teach our small children/grandchildren the art of giving! I really struggle with the ability to do this gracefully and instinctively. There are some that are always caring for and thinking of the needs of others! How important and powerful it is to show our small children on up to adult children how to give - there is an art to it, and to use their art to raise funds to feed those without is very special also. Using their God-given talents put to paper with the pure hearts of little children! How I learn at the feet of my children and grandchildren as they embrace their faith and give to their siblings and their parents the values and morals we instill in them as a domestic Church. When Ruth returned home after giving birth to Luke through a C-section - Simon was very sweet to his mom on returning home from school that first day - "Mom, let me help you with that." I am sure that many grandmothers reading this feel that emotional pull to those special works of art that have been gifted to them by their children and grandchildren over the years. So take some time and have an art day with them this holiday season and use their creations to feed those that are hungry and without - most especially the hungry children!

Jesus, at this time of great family gathering to thank God for all our blessings - may we always remember those that are suffering. There are those, who are alone - may we look around and reach out to them and invite them into our warm wonderful smelling homes - filled with laughter, and good food and good conversation and warm their sad and lonely hearts! May we find the art of giving to be natural and automatic - and share our excess with those who are hungry on all levels! May we share without counting the cost! May we bring our little ones up at LIGHTS to always care for those in need to the point of doing without to accomplish this! Jesus, we trust in YOU. Amen and Hallelujah
