"Jesus birthday, mommy?" Augustine age 2 1/2

First thing this morning Gus/Augustine got on all his warm layers of farm/tractor clothes to go out and help grandpa grind hay/corn stalks and feed the cows and calves!  He stood at the patio door and looked out on the cold snowy weather, and suggested to grandpa that he needed to blow some snow too!  He loves being a farmboy when he comes down to the farm, and grandpa sure is tickled that he has so much interest in what is going on.  Just ask his mom, Nancy, he talks about it without end at home!  He will constantly ask her to go home - "You are home Gussy."  "No, Brumm-brumm home, mom."
This morning Nancy was sharing how when they light the advent wreath candles each night that Gus remembers Bernadette's birthday, and he says; "Jesus birthday, mom?"  "When I mention Jesus' mother, he will say 'Pray, mommy?"  So wonderful and heart melting... it is so important to bring our Faith into our homes!  When I talked with Nancy this morning about the idea of leaving the little ones home so that the parents can get more out of church and because it seems that the little ones don't get anything out of it.  "I know I was in the cry room just yesterday with a crying baby, and I guess I do remember some of the homily though.  But I want to go to mass with my husband, and not split up and take shifts so that the baby is at home and not with us."  So true!  This is the glue that keeps us together and happy as can be humanly possible with embracing our Most Cherished Cross!  To me there are two big things that make me LOVE my husband/Most Cherished Cross... sharing our Faith is the most important of those two and seeing the Holy Spirit at work through him in his strong direction in Family and openness to LIFE is huge too!
Well, I am off to the house full of family - Ruth's filled with all the grandkids and lunch!  Jesus, we thank and praise YOU for all our blessings!  Jesus, we trust in YOU.  Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
