The Patroness of the Americas blanketed in snow, and so appropriate for us in the midst of an early winter here! - The Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary/Our Lady of Guadalupe! This was on facebook today on the site dedicated to St John Paul II with these words - "Totus tuus" - which means "totally yours" and means total consecration to Mary! After sharing the wonder of morning prayer and the readings from the mass today with Pat this morning - I feel so uplifted and blessed to know that this pure wonderful woman is always with me on my journey of LIFE! How sad for those, who do not acknowledge her importance and beauty! But I will not go there today... I will just be filled with gratitude for her in my LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT! Knowing of her Immaculate birth into this world and crushing the head of the serpent, and then focusing on the miracle of Christ entering the world through her purity sinless state - it just makes me so grateful and filled with such excitement at the beauty/gift that bringing a child into the world or into Heaven is for us as women!
I am so lucky and blessed by this image of mother and child to be alive and well around me in my life! Little Luke - miracle baby #3 for Ruth arrived on Nov 1st - All Saints Day! Such a beautiful perfect little boy here as the result of his parents being open to LIFE and trusting in the doctors hands being those of Christ and in the prayers that surrounded Ruth and the baby! These three little ones would not be here to bless us if Ruth and Paul had not gotten a second opinion when Ruth was told no more children after her second! We place these three right in there with our other miracles of John and Patrick! Such a heart warming picture of the beauty of Motherhood and LIFE, and the epitome of what I find of value in LIFE! Yes, I am a nurse and that is a very great calling in LIFE, but all I ever cared to be was a mother! I am a mother to 5 here with me and continuing on with the openness to LIFE and bringing LIGHTS into the world, that their father, Patrick, first led our family into from our engagement weekend - for more I wrote at length on my page devoted to our marriage - http://familysoulstory.blogspot.com/p/my-most-cherished-cross-patrick-gerard.html. I am also the mother of 7 in heaven praying for us and drawing our eyes ever towards heaven someday... where we will be united as a family of great JOY and Happiness! As little Therese says about her two siblings in heaven through Maria's two miscarriages - "Mom, when we get to heave we are going to need to have a big van for all those kids!" For our 12 - we will need a bus!
No more beautiful picture of Mother and beloved child than the battle for Patrick's LIFE and healing after being born dead 14 months ago today! So beautiful that on your 14 month birthday - it should be the most glorious feastday of the Patron of the Americas!!! Our Spiritual Mother of Heaven and Earth, who held you in her sinless arms and brought you to the heart of Jesus - burning with LOVE for you, sweet little Lamb/Patrick! How you showed us the power of being a Lamb, and having the Cross set upon your small perfect shoulders 20 minutes before birth in your mother's torn womb! You and your mother, who was also close to death on this day 14 months ago, are such a beautiful image of the beauty and gift of all LIFE! You can see the prayers surrounding you just as the tubes and wires and bassinett all around you are those made visible! We learned the power of prayer and the LIFE that can be found when we take up our Most Cherished Cross and following Christ down the narrow path to find LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!
A month later we welcomed Bernadette, and it was so special to see the welcoming JOY of her brother, Augustine, at her arrival! It was an instant LOVE for his beautiful gift-from-God new sister! Now they both will welcome another little one this next summer! So many prayers and excitement at the growth of this new LIFE to fill our family with more LOVE. With each new arrival our love grows bigger - it does not get stretched more thin! LIFE is so beautiful and that is so true of the small new LIFE/Mary Mother of Heaven and Earth, who is the "model of holiness" - "In much the same way that DNA plays an integral role in our genetic code: from the inside, not from the outside. At Mary's conception, a new way of being human happens, and we are 'chosen, destined' to share it... The yes of Mary at the Annunciation, the culmination of the Immaculate Conception, undoes the disobedience of Eden and makes paradise a possibility once again for us." see www.magnificat.com These beautiful images of mother and child gained their glorious LIGHT from the Immaculate conception of Mary! It fills me with such great longing and JOY beyond description!
The baptism of Ruth by my dad - a Permanent Deacon in the Catholic Church in 1980!
Jesus, with your Mother at your side in Heaven, we are filled with so much this day! The tears of Joy welled up for me in the midst of prayer this morning for all the blessings and healings we have experienced! The thought that we will be together in a few short days to have a house filled with LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT! May the path be without snow and ice, so that the plane travel is safe and easy and the roads are clear for getting them back down to the farm in time to see little Luke as baby Jesus in the Christmas program at HRS on Thursday night! We aren't asking for much, O LORD! Our Lady, you know that the beads of your prayer will be passing through my fingers through much of this day, and I am filled with so much LOVE and JOY knowing that you are there with me on this journey as I carry my Most Cherished Cross and follow your Son down the narrow path to LIFE eternal! I am so blessed as a woman to be able to have you with me and to know the great happiness and Cross that being open to LIFE has brought me in my lifetime. It was a great loss to lose my little angels, but now they keep me ever plodding and stumbling towards Heaven. Jesus, I trust in YOU. Amen and Hallelujah

Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
With her in my arms! What JOY! I had a miscarriage between her and Ruth, so this made for a very powerful happiness after the pain of loss. If it weren't for the hardships and pain in life, the happiness would not be nearly as sweet!
"Behold I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word." Mary to the Angel today in the beautiful Gospel - Luke 1:26-38
The birth of John - two losses between John and Susan - how he was cherished and loved - most especially by his sister, Susan/now little Sister Hallel! She knew the pain of loss and cherished this life we were given to share the journey of LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT with!
Danielle Rose - Psalm 139 - fearfully and wonderfully made
The three babies a year ago - looks like they are dancing together! This year they will be running around together and we can't wait! Safe travels, LORD, and please keep all the bugs away too!
