Our big picture window is like a huge picture frame for me - the pink sunrise on the white snow - Our Lady bathed in the morning light surrounded by the white of snow. She is like a big YES! Yes! You are being called to allow Christ to work within you, and like our Lady we say a humble YES! Sometimes we find it hard to be cheerful and positive in our yes - it can be begrudging and weak, yet I still find that even this half hearted yes has good results. This is such a lesson that I need to remember in the face of family dynamics. Last night I watched a show of a farming family in Alaska, and it was pretty sweet to watch the older couple interact with each other. I really watched with interest when he had her sitting in a backhoe, and she was complaining about how she had no idea what she was doing in there. So many times I feel that way out there, and worried about maybe hurting Pat or watching him get hurt! She was a good sport, and they treated each other well and lovingly - yes, there is a camera crew there to keep down the anger, but it was a good thing to see. I would love to have more happy times together as we work outside... LORD, hear my prayer. Jesus, we trust in YOU. Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
It helps to have those farm dates together having fun sharing time in the tractor- a cab sure is nice now on the loader after all our marriage of Pat being outside in the elements during the winter! Pat says that it sure is nice to have a cab with heat! And a seat for me to join him. I feel a bit big, but it is a fun new experience sharing time with Pat and making this job that was miserable out in the elements now comfortable and social!
Little Gus had to call grandpa and talk about the tractors with him yesterday... how he loves the little seat just for him, or David or Rose or soon to come - little Dave, Therese, and Patrick will each love to have their turn!
