Burning Question? - Does it hurt a tree to pick the fruit off of it?

Little Therese at the life care center her mommy worked at - she is 1 1/2 years old and we are in the adoration chapel located in the same facility where ultrasounds are done to show the life within the women that come in!  Showing them that this is a LIFE to be protected and cherished at all costs!  How appropriate that Jesus and the heart of Prayer for LIFE should be located in a Life Care Center!  Just a block away is a Planned Parenthood where all LIFE is attacked - so needed is this Presence of our Life-giving, Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!.  From St John in the first reading today - I John 5:5-13  "God gave us eternal LIFE, and this LIFE is in his Son.  Whoever possesses the Son has LIFE; whoever does not possess the Son of God does not have LIFE."
Giving Jesus a kiss!
This morning a flood of words came pouring from the mouth, heart, mind, and soul of my husband... as soon as the light was turned on for morning prayer - the trickle to a flood began!  Last night after the fair board meeting as they shared coffee - the sharing about how activists to protect animals have gone too far!  People are hired innocently by big hog processors, and they take covert pictures out of context and raise heck in making it look like hogs are being mistreated.  ON and on this goes and Pat was filled with crazy wrath at the thought of those that are delivering hogs to be killed for our consumption are told that they cannot use a prod or paddle to get them off the truck and in the door to be killed!  Then he launched a step further in spending money on research on trying to decipher if trees feel pain when the fruit is plucked from them, and then also would plants which supply us food also feel pain!  Too much especially in the context of knowing that little tiny human beings are torn limb from limb and their screams of pain are recorded by ultrasound as they are pulled from the womb and thrown in the garbage!!!!
In the midst of John's cancer 4 years ago - the birth of our grandson, David Joseph on Dec 21st!  Therese welcomed with great JOY and acceptance her new brother!  She is the model of an older loving and caring sister to both of her brothers!
It is so crazy wrong and backwards to go to such extent with the creation we are given to take care of and raise to feed the world.  Pat expounded, and I know for a fact, that the animals and plants we raise here on the farm are treated with utmost care and respect for their every need!  Pat is out there each day in the horrible cold making sure that they are "comfortable" on dry bedding with extra fuel/calories in their feed to stay healthy and happy.  He is known by the vet when he checks Pat's cows as maybe being a bit too well fed and more towards the chubby end of things.  My husband farmer takes very seriously his life long job of feeding the world the best way possible and that means caring well for his animals and crops!  He is also a huge champion for all human LIFE - he is open to LIFE and raising LIGHTS, and with no reservations wants to protect ALL LIFE in the womb!  He allowed and encouraged me to have all 12 of our children - even with loss after loss and looks to meeting our 7 in Heaven at the end of our days here on earth!
Therese and daddy, Joseph, gaze with love and amazement at the new arrival, David, in Dec 2009!
We were just finishing John's radiation, which was needed to fight off his brain cancer once and for all!  This day 4 years ago marks our return to Rochester to our little yellow house, and a month's battle to drop a bomb on any remaining cancer cells with his stem cell transplant!  How emotional am I at this point?  I am attempting to put this into words, so I hope you are getting where I am at!!!  We were fighting the battle of our LIVES for the healing of our 20 year old son!  This in contrast to the crazy mess of those that do not know the Son of God, Jesus, and what LIFE is all about to the point that they spend time and money worrying about whether it hurts a tree of a plant to pick the fruit off of it!  It is so blatantly obvious how far astray from the Truth this world can get!  The darkness makes them blind to what really matters in this world - the Truth that LIFE is to be cherished and protected from conception to natural death!
John walking down the street in Rochester during his battle for LIFE!    If you are interested in reading his story - http://familysoulstory.blogspot.com/p/johns-cancer-stories.html  I have this page you can find most of it here, and also http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/johnverly  for pictures and all the posts we made each day of his battle!
Jesus, we are filled with so much fire this day at the crazy mess of the world!  How can the Truth be so lost and covered over with darkness?  If only they could see with eyes of Faith that LIFE is a gift and given us is eternal LIFE by the Holy Spirit dwelling in us.  May our LIGHT be there for all to see and recognize that before animals and plants comes man, who you created in your image, and then you took on the flesh of a human being and came to show us your face of LOVE/LIFE/LIGHT!  In the Gospel today we see the great compassion you show for those that are the most wretched - "a man full of leprosy."  In my emotional state right now I feel that these people so misled and hateful towards LIFE to the point of putting animals and plants ahead of them are filled with wretchedness/full of leprosy.  It is hard for me to have pity on them and compassion as you do, Lord!  "Jesus stretched out his hand, touched him and said, 'I will do it.  Be made clean.'  And the leprosy left him immediately."  The whole thing is that they need to recognize their wretchedness and ask for the Lord to make him "clean."  Can our love and forgiveness of their illness get them to that point with Our Lord?  Can our turning away from anger and disgust and replacing it with compassion bring them to the LIGHT/TRUTH?  Maybe on their deathbed or before?  So much to ponder in prayer this day and forward!  Jesus, I am filled at this point with righteous indignation at the upside down values - after watching the silent scream and babies screaming and trying to escape the suction hose or the scalpel of the abortionist as they are torn limb from limb and pulled from the womb of their mothers!  How do you ever get past that feeling of agonizing horror at the thought of taking the innocent LIFE of millions of LIGHTS?  Help me to find mercy and forgiveness.  Jesus, I trust in YOU.  Amen and Hallelujah
Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
Gathered at 8a mass in November 2009 for the miraculous healing with a relic of Venerable Solanus Casey as well as anointing for the 3rd time!  The Church was filled as we consider every piece as part of John's healing... no, he didn't go running up and down the aisles jumping and leaping and praising God - miraculously healed!  But I was told a year later by a woman, who was there and was praying for her own healing... her prayer was answered!
Therese and David - the two one year olds we had at that time - now they are the two 5 year olds 4 years later in Rochester as we faced the beginning of radiation to save John's life as a family and an army of prayer warriors!  Now we have  one year olds as the 3 daughters were all pregnant together, and now have children growing up together too!  LIFE is to be cherished with total LOVE and LIGHTS are to be raised!  "The world needs LIGHTS!"  Pat Verly at our engagement weekend when I asked him if we were being selfish to have a big family in the midst of a world of darkness!
October 2009 - we went back to get the news that John's cancer had come back through the chemo - "We need to begin radiation." the doctor said.  "No!" I yelled as we had been told this could cause John to have dementia.  John looked at me with tears of fear in his eyes - "Mom, I want to live!"  The storm had returned - remember.... Jesus is in control!
The" bushy bushy " squirrel Therese and I would watch with great JOY outside her window when I stayed with them.  I love all nature and find JOY in it, but I also see God in human LIFE from conception to natural death!
Danielle Rose - Psalm 139 wonderfully made

Top 10 Christian songs for 2009 - in our new van we had the Joy of ad free radio - we traveled to Christian music back and forth to Rochester each day for radiation and then returned to Maria and Nancy's home!

Revelation by third Day - speaking to me of John's journey!
