I am away from home visiting my parents with husband and son in tow. Just as I was leaving home I had the fun of having my little shadow, Rose, along to make my time shared with a smiling 20 month old! I will soon be sharing a large family experience at a baby shower for my Godson's wife! I have had one of my marathon visits with my parents and there was a beautiful pearl that was shared by my mother - I just very much wanted to share this story of Truth, and it is as if a LIGHT has turned on in directing me in prayer for LIFE!
Rose joined me as I brushed my teeth too!
Mom shared an article she read in the Catholic Servant. A young woman, who was a sidewalk counselor and prayer warrior, brought along her friend as she prayed on the front lines outside of an abortion clinic. She was amazed as this woman would go ahead of her and walk up to cars - giving out material and speaking to those inside. Not only that but this woman would walk into the door and sit in the waiting room with the people. Then she would even walk down the hall and enter the rooms with the women, and be with them throughout all of their experiences! She would walk into the clinic and would hear some of them say - "O, it's you again." from the people working there. Who was this woman - she was our Spiritual Mother, Mary Most Holy! Wow! That really knocked my socks off and tears started streaming down my face! I know that the Rosary and praying all 20 decades was the powerful weapon of prayer we used the day we prayed outside an abortion clinic in the Cities with a pregnant Nancy and Ruth, Paul and then our 3 small grandchildren! Who better to picture walking inside with these scared and misled girls! Misled to think that this baby is only a "lump of tissue" not the actual small life complete with arms and legs and a beating heart! How I love to now watch this woman, whom we are beseeching in prayer to go ahead of us and walk with them every step of they way. She also takes that short LIFE and small extinguished LIGHT into her arms and carries them to the bosom of her Son, Jesus Christ!
Lord, may we look at all LIFE and know that it is to be cherished and protected at all costs! May we know that your Mother of God is there always to fight for LIFE every step of the way! We look to the wonderful image for the Americas of Our Lady of Guadalupe remembering that she came to a culture of death - the Mayan people with their human sacrifice, and was responsible for bringing 2,000,000 people into The Church! She was pregnant with Christ - the black tie around her waist shows us that! No wonder she is Protectress of LIFE! Our Lady come and walk with those that are afraid and misled and that little life within them that is in danger of being killed! May they turn aside from taking LIFE and embrace the Truth! Jesus, we trust in YOU! Amen and Hallelujah

"I love the Lord for he has heard
the cry of my appeal;
for he has turned his ear to me
in the day I called to him."
Psalm 116 from evening prayer in the office yesterday - my dad shared this with me!
Rose giving Patrick many gentle kisses!
Psalm 121
I lift my eyes to the hills:
from where shall come my help?
My help shall come from the Lord
who made heaven and earth..."
Dad shared this psalm from evening prayer too with these words - "This psalm will be used at my funeral!" It is true that as you approach 90 you talk and think about your end more and more. Jesus, may I have even more time with my parents and keep them in good health.
Gentle kisses
