Pat out to survey his hard work of cleaning out the barn and bedding them all just as the weather turned once again from warm to cold and windy. This one steer seems to be looking at his good friend and human who raised him with gratitude for all the ways that Pat has cared for his every need from conception to now! Pat was probably the one who AIed his mother and chose his father - well, it is getting a bit too technical and personal right Mr Steer? It is very nice to have now our daughter's husband, Paul, involved with the cattle part of the farm. Pat can more easily leave and know that things are in good hands.
I thought the one with the spotted face was super cute! Well, it has been an evening of writing letters and helping each other with the task of getting all ready to go and work at a 3 day retreat for the weekend into Monday. It went much better than some times in the past. Pat just said that he has surprised himself by being more prepared than many times in the past. I have to agree with him on that. He even offered to load the car tonight! Now that would be a first, and it hasn't quite happened yet, but as they say it is sometimes the thought that counts.
Lord, go with Pat and John and all those making and working this TEC retreat this weekend. May the weather be good, and all go well here on the farm while Pat is away and Paul is in charge. Jesus, we trust in YOU. Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
If these steers could speak - "Have a good retreat, farmer Pat. We thank God for you every day ,and how well you care for our every need. You are the right man for the job of caring for God's creatures the best way possible. Bless-bless, from us steers! PS could you put a word in when your praying for warmer weather soon?"
The Pat and Barb Verly family and their 5 children, in laws and grandkids along with many prayer warriors have been drawn together by John's cancer... sharing daily for 8 months started this blog- Family Soul Story - Our faith, family, farm and now our cancer journey called HEALING have colored and deepened our world. WE continue to share and depend on the support of our prayer warrior community, that has lowered us into the Lord's presence for His healing!
