Maria's 4... the older 3 holding baby Romeo on his 2 month birthday. Such a treat to find this on Maria's blog today. The love and caring that he finds from his family is very evident to me. He is growing so quickly and well that it looks like Therese needs help in holding him now.

And I just love this one, and have to share it! He gives me so much JOY even in pictures. It seems so evident that he is a wonderful sweet baby, who is thriving on his mommies milk and the love that surrounds him.
So blessed this day with sharing morning prayer and the readings with John and Pat. The first reading from Revelations reveals a window into heaven - St John passed through "a door to heaven." His vision is quite something with all the thrones, crowns, eyes, amazing shining jewels, and the ongoing day and night exclaiming of: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and who is, and who is to come." Ever since reading this I feel that I am singing His praise within me over and over! And should we not be doing this? Yes! Continuing His Praise from the first reading today: "Worthy are you, Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things; because of your will they came to be and were created." How powerful this all becomes gazing with eyes of love on our newest grandson, who is surrounded by love as a true creation of God!
Thanks to his big brother, Patrick, little Romeo has had tummy time since his first week home, and it looks like it is making him strong...

Lifting his head, and looking around at his world!
After the first reading we go into the Hallel Psalm - Psalm 150! So appropriate to show God the highest praise which is what these Psalms mean and which just saying Little Sister Hallel's name is doing. Hallelujah!
Psalm 150
Praise the Lord in his sanctuary,
praise him in the firmament of his strength.
Praise him for his mighty deeds,
praise him for his sovereign majesty.
Holy, holy, holy Lord, mighty God!
Praise him with the blast of trumpet,
praise him with lyre and harp,
Praise him with timbrel and dance,
Praise him with strings and pipe.
Holy, holy, holy Lord, mighty God!
Praise him with sounding cymbals,
praise him with clanging cymbals.
Let everything that has breath
praise the Lord! Hallelujah.
Holy, holy, holy Lord, mighty God!
John and I have been trying to call Rome to talk to Susan/Hallel this morning. He is heading up to the Cities for some job interviews, and we wanted her prayers. We are asking the Lord to reveal his path to John, as we have no doubt that he has a great plan for him. It was interesting to hear John tell one interviewer on the phone that he is a motivational speaker, but that it is more of a hobby than a job giving him an income. He feels that sharing his story is what he truly burns to do, but knows that this will not pay the bills!
After the heavenly start to the readings at mass we go to a hard parable of the talents... reading the version of Matthew on Sunday in the car with John, Pat and Amy we came to the realization that this is talking about how we are called upon to use our God-given talents to bring others to HIM! How else can this make any kind of sense when we know that the poor are near and dear to the merciful heart of Jesus as are all the humble. Today it is told to us by St Luke - Luke 19, and once again it is harsh appearing. Father at mass on Sunday preached about how we are called to use our talents to bring others to Jesus and His Church! Whether that be by raising our kids as lights or living our lives in Christ without using words... but the accounting will be of whom we shared the LIGHT with in our lifetimes. Wow! That is big and serious and how I pray that I can share Jesus whenever I can!
The kind of soft cuteness that gives us moments of warmth of heart these cold winter days.
John is heading out with excitement and hope in his heart... we just took some Lourdes water to anoint his head and hands with and prayed to Our Lady of Lourdes to go with him and help him to find his path in life. It is truly the kind of day, as are they all, with the knowledge and love of Jesus and His Bride, The Church as we go forward down the narrow path carrying/dragging our Most Cherished Cross and following after Jesus... we are forever and without end proclaiming - "Holy, holy, holy Lord, God Almighty!"
Pat and I went to a cattle sale together on Monday and we passed right through the town where my dad was a deacon for 3 years - St Peter's in Colman, SD! We stopped so that I could go inside and pray for a few minutes, so wonderful to recall those wonderful 3 years when they were so close in the midst of our prairie farm countryside!

My dad reminded us when we visited them on Sunday that this picture on my blog was taken there in the doorway of this church on Easter of 1998... There was a huge prairie wind blowing that day - The Holy Spirit at work!
Jesus, I am yours totally and without reservation. May I die more to self so that you may live in me. May I give this day without counting the cost. May I take to heart the motto of the Community of the Lamb - "Wounded, I will not cease to LOVE." So hard to do, yet truly what you ask of us when you tell us to take up our cross and follow after You! May we serve all in our domestic Church/family. Those that we love the most, yet treat, at times, the worst. So wrong and confusing that we feel that anger and hatred well up in us towards those the closest to us. Melt our hearts this day with your love and forgiveness and mercy and may we in turn return that to all those around us. From morning prayer this morning this reading from Isaiah 66..."Look down from heaven and regard us from your holy and glorious palace! Where is your zealous care and your might, your surge of pity and your mercy? O Lord, hold not back, for you are our father... You, Lord, are our father, our redeemer you are named forever." Hear our prayer, O Lord, for we are weak and need You to carry us in your loving and forgiving arms. Jesus, we trust in You. Amen and Hallelujah
"Indeed, the Lord Jesus himself, in the parable of the talents, emphasizes the severe treatment given to the man who dared to hide the gift received: You wicked slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sowed and gather where I have not winnowed?... so take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents. It falls to us, who receive the gifts of God in order to make them fruitful, to 'sow' and 'reap.' If we do not , even what we have will be taken from us." St John Paul II (2005)
Inside with the memories flowing all around me and through me! Holy, holy, holy!!!!!!
