The amazing Crucifix overhead while Father Paul reads us from The Word today... the Gospel according to Mark. I am so close to Hallel at this point of the mass - her love for Jesus in the Word is what called her to be His Bride and join The Community of the Lamb. Seeing her JOY when the Word is processed forward is burned into my heart, mind and soul. Her promise that we are united in the Eucharist gives me much comfort. How I know this to be Truth!
Rosie sees Simon on the altar, and watches his example of serving and showing devotion for Word and Sacrament.
Bringing forth the offering including the bread and wine which become The Body and The Blood of Christ - "My Lord and my God." I repeat these words of St Thomas, the doubter, when the Body and Blood are held up by the priest. Reminding me that this is Jesus in the flesh!
Sweet altar boy, Simon...
Luke puts his head on grandpa's big shoulder, and...
finds a nice place for a nap.
I look over and see so much of a little girl of mine, Ruth Ida, in her daughter, Rose Ida.
I cannot find the words to describe how special it is to see my little girls in this little 2 year old!
It just so happens that we came across this of Ruth at 2 from Advent/Christmas 1981... so 33 years ago this was Ruth and now 2 year old Rose is so much like her mother. The years have been many and have flown by, but able to look back up until another 2 year old girl today... it just brings the warm memories of 36 Advents filled with the happiness of shared warmth of our own growing family and now growing with grandkids... Steps on the way to heaven are Heaven!
Jesus, knowing how we have been given so much help on our journey for the last 36 years - the Family of Patrick and Barbara Verly, we continue to follow after You down the narrow path to LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT! We are assisted by so many - we are never alone... Our Lady, Mother of Heaven and earth, All the Angels and Saints, armed with the Truth of You in your Word, The Sacraments, and prayer without ceasing. How can be go too far off the narrow Way as long as we have The Truth and The LIFE- Jesus? Jesus, we trust in YOU. Amen and Hallelujah
Each one of our grandchildren is a unique LIGHT in our world and they help us take steps towards heaven which brings a small slice of Heaven to our lives! Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
I really appreciate the beauty of this Saint Catherine of Siena
