"Hand pies" for little Dave's birthday!!!

Visiting Maria 3 months ago for the birth of her 4th child, Romeo, she taught me something using the crust recipe I gave her and apple pie filling that we make each fall.  "I am going to make hand pies for Romeo's baptism." Maria announced.  What are hand pies?  It is pie crust that is cut into circles with a cereal bowl and pie filling put on half and the then folded over the top.  They were fun and yummy.  I even took a couple in a zip lock on the plane for a easy and tasty snack.
We have talked to Maria, and they are on the road and stopping for the night in Gaymon, OK for the night.  Tomorrow they will be staying with the Little Sisters and Brothers in Kansas City, KS.  On Friday they will go straight to my family Christmas- CCC - Cross Christmas Camp!  That is where our family will gather and we are super excited!  We will also be celebrating grandson, David the younger's 5th birthday on Dec 21st!  I have big plans and so making the "hand pies" today will be part of that...
Brushed them with egg white and sprinkled Christmas sugar before they were baked and then frosted... Super special Christmas/birthday hand pies for David the younger.  Remember we have two grandsons named David that are a year and a half apart!
I am excited to do a procession for the birthday boy at the breakfast we will be serving - we have learned this from the Community of the Lamb, too!
Over to watch the kids this afternoon and found this adorable garland and lights on the porch of the playhouse at Ruth's.
Tonight in the dark while Ruth and Paul were teaching Faith Formation...
Cute Rose is getting into the spirit of Family coming together for Christmas!  Jesus, give all those traveling safe travels.  Jesus, we trust in YOU.  Bless-bless, Barb
