"The Lord is near." Phil 4:5 Going forth into LIFE without fear!

The world outside looks like it has been set aglistening with crystals of ice on each branch and even the snow has crystals that glow in the sunlight!  I was drawn to my huge front picture window to admire with a constant mantra of "It's so beautiful!" over and over as I snapped many pictures which just don't seem to do what I am seeing with my eyes justice.  It is so wondrous to see the Sun shining on the beautiful untouched whiteness of fresh ice and snow.

I am starting to feel a bit of stress with our big family Christmas coming near in just a few days.  There are reports of the flu striking here and there, but we must just put it all in the hands of the Lord and trust that we can gather and enjoy and have a "hedge of protection," as my dad is famous for praying and saying, around us.  We cannot stop living and serving the Lord no matter what we face!  The fear of sickness or injury or insult cannot prevent us from going forth into the situations of LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!

Lord, I am asking for you to come and protect the times of families coming together at this time of year.  May there be healing of old and new wounds as the Christ is near to us!  May we give without counting the cost.  May we always Trust that no matter the situation that you are going to give us what we need to love and serve those in need/the poor/Christ in our midst.  Jesus, we trust in YOU.  Amen and Hallelujah

Sweetness in my bed last week.  Soon we will all be gathering to spend some wonderful time with all of our family minus our Little Sister Hallel.  She is always with us in Spirit, though!

I found this today describing a man, who gave his all for Christ - St Damien of Molokia
"Thirteen years before, while a student for the priesthood in France, Damien had symbolically faced and accepted death. At the public profession of his final vows, as was the religious custom of the times, his superiors covered him with a funeral pall. He had truly believed then that only by accepting death would he discover life. Now, thirteen years later, he was putting his dedication to the test. He sought to serve the most pitiful of all men, the lepers of Molokai. By so doing, in the words of Robert Louis Stevenson, "he shut to, with his own hands, the doors of his own sepulchre."
