He was sharing that the room he meets in is the same room that we would sit in 10 years ago and since for his annual check ups with Dr Brian ONeal, who brought John to Mayo 10 years ago when we were terrified and in shock to discover that John had brain cancer at age 20!

A beautiful bean field leading in the early morning sun while we picked up bales... up to our grain bins and where we lived for the first 9 years of our married life - we had the 4 girls while we lived there and the memories are very sweet indeed of our wonderful nest years in our tiny house on Hwy 59.
John shared that he is hearing that the whole brain radiation he had to cure his brain cancer along with bathing in Lourdes, being anointed 4 times, using the relic of Blessed Solanus Casey, as well as hundreds of prayer warriors... that the radiation is likely the reason that he is back at increasing double vision now due to some nerve and muscle damage. Surgery is likely at some point, and he is also in good hands here with distant cousin Dr Louwagie here in Marshall. No sign of cancer!!!
Ruth waiting by the bins while Paul filled up my wagon first.
Picking up bales early in the morning is getting to be quite nice with Paul putting them on and Pat taking them off and piling them at home.
Three is always the magic number for me to capture something and truly feel like I have done it justice.
Feeling nostalgic and in a way like Yes, John is healed yet there will be issues to deal with down the road now that he is the new John and had so much used for him to become cancer free. I also take heart knowing that he is being watched and cared for by wonderful people, and how much heart we take from Mayo and the knowledge that they see it all there! That is what Pat needed to know that they had seen others like our very rare son having PCNSL!
Next we picked up bales by Paul's corn field which just tasseled over the weekend and now the ears are silking…. Quite a look to behold!
I also need to take heart in how much John's Faith grew in his half-hearted prayer for faith. A few days later brain cancer and that is what brought him to love Jesus and His Mother, and The Church! The seeds were planted firmly and deeply in his heart and life, and much fruit is shared and bring him in the most REAL way to the new John!
Very interesting to see the silk before the ears...
On the day of John's stem cell transplant after they had wiped out everything in his bone marrow, and then planted back the his own stem cells they had harvested... the seeds for new life! The reading that day was the sower and the seed as it is today also!
Matthew 13
"A sower went out to sow.
And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path,
and birds came and ate it up.
Some fell on rocky ground, where it had little soil.
It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep,
and when the sun rose it was scorched,
and it withered for lack of roots.
Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it.
But some seed fell on rich soil, and produced fruit,
a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold.
Whoever has ears ought to hear."
Even if those are ears of corn? I couldn't resist that after sharing the silking pictures.
And #3 with the tassels on top and the silk below and soon the pollen will fertilize the ears of corn. With this crazy late year... so many prayers are going into this crop and what it can be this year.
John does wear corrective lenses that helps him to see clearly and he is still able to drive and do most things OK. It just seems really different to be dealing with double vision again 10 years later.
Waiting for Paul to fill my wagon along Hwy 23 - by the Prolife sign... this on one side of me..
Joy Jean on the other... #6 in her family and a sure sign to the world that we love LIFE and are open to LIFE and raise them as LIGHTS to cast out the darkness of the culture of Death!
I loved the verse before the Gospel today - the Alleluia!
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
The seed is the word of God, Christ is the sower;
all who come to him will live for ever.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
This is the Truth that fills me greatest of JOY each night when I read the readings for the next day! I have learned this at the feet of my nun daughter and her wonderful Community of the Lamb as they mendicate/chew the Word beginning the night before chanting and speaking each line as the Holy Spirit then brings out the seed and it may bear much fruit in our daily lives - most especially with those the closest to us in our domestic Church/family. And how we long to live forever with the Sower, Christ Jesus our Lord! Nothing is more important or do we long for more than this!
Joy and grandma checking out mom and 4Hers out working with the cows and pigs this morning.
Ruth and David working with the pairs.
Heading for the wash racks...
David and the calf following after the cow...
Nice looking pair for the fair in a few weeks.
Jesus, how we stagger down the narrow path carrying/dragging our Most Cherished Cross and following after you. We are overwhelmed by your unconditional love and forgiveness for us and we long to return that to those around us. May we die to self so that you may live in us and we may bear fruit that will last. "Wounded, I will not cease to love." Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Halleujah
This is what you have in your future Joy. How we love to have our farm family living on the farm and that the 6 young ones can grow in so many ways as farm kids. Bless-bless, Barb
