Bowing to the Gospel/The Word/Jesus processed forward in Kansas City a while back. The Monastery is now being watched over by some members of the lay community of the Lamb while the Little Sisters and Brothers are all gathered in France at their mother house - Saint Pierre.
Through my years with Hallel and her wonderful Community of the Lamb for over 10 years now.. I have grown to appreciate and hunger for Jesus in The Word. Today there was a bell ringing when after reading the second reading from Colossians 1 the lector spoke these words: "The word of the Lord." And we said in return "thanks be to God." A spark of joy filled me to realize that not just the Gospel is from God to us... His entire Bible leads the Spirit to fill us with LIGHT and Truth!
Hallel last August when she took her final vows - "I promise unto death." She received the Lamb to wear to show that promise to her spouse, Jesus Christ!
So much in His Word to us this day of the 15th Sunday of Ordinary time... starting with the first reading from Dt 30!
"For this command that I enjoin on you today
is not too mysterious and remote for you...
No, it is something very near to you,
already in your mouths and in your hearts;
you have only to carry it out."
That command is that we love our neighbor as ourselves only after our LOVE for our Lord!
Yesterday I shared a picture of the 3 oldest on the beach a week before Pat and I and John went to France for Hallel's first vows! Love this from last August while we had all 5 kids there together to experience the wonder and deep spirituality of Saint Pierre, France!
The 18/the mountain of family that we moved to France to share in Hallel's huge step in her marriage to her LOVE, Jesus Christ! So much JOY and LOVE!
It took flying to France for Hallel's wedding to get all our 5 children together. I still get so choked up and moved to see this happened. The only other times it has happened in the last 11 years was for John's brain cancer, and when Hallel/Susan has had her two home visits on the farm. There can be on pricetag placed on family time and getting them all together for a few small slice of heavenly days!
The second reading from Colossians is each word a pearl of great price! Jesus is the reason for each and every thing in our lives, part of our lives, all that we do and have done in our lives, all in our lives whether in heaven or here with us... that means the world to me as I have over half of our family to meet in heaven someday and I feel their being part of me with them... I feel their prayers and concern for this old staggering woman trying to keep to the narrow path - dying to self so that Jesus can use these old hands and feet!
For in him all the fullness was pleased to dwell,
and through him to reconcile all things for him, making peace by the blood of his cross
through him, whether those on earth or those in heaven.
Colossians 1
I like to look into the depths that these eyes are revealing after our time in Adoration with Jesus in Word, Body and Blood in France where all the distractions and things of this world are taken away in this rustic place of embracing poverty, chastity and obedience... the vows Hallel lives by.
Marriage too has vows that we live by... to LOVE Jesus foremost and then put each other ahead of ourselves. Hard to do? Yes! Sharing prayer each day and following the "law" of The True Church/the Bride of Christ without any hesitation and with no exceptions! Yes!
the Virgin with her lamp lit!
The Gospel today is The Good Samaritan!
Which of these three, in your opinion,
was neighbor to the robbers' victim?"He answered, "The one who treated him with mercy."
Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise." Luke 10
Mercy!!! How often do we come down harshly on those closest to us? Yes, Lord, may I return the Mercy that you have shown me with each new day. Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless, Barb
How blessed were we all in her family to share in this most beautiful joyful time with our 4th daughter! Now to have her close by in KC for these last few years - pure gift! Thank you, Lord!
The 5 together - LOVE! Pat was saying today how happy it made him to know that we are all united in the Eucharist today as we know that each one of our children and their families are getting to mass as we share our Faith with great JOY!
The kids with their wonderful spouses! Three were pregnant here! The 3 new boys all were there in France with us!
Together again after France for the first time in the arms of their mothers a couple weeks ago!

St Kateri today, too!!! She gave her all to Jesus, too!
This brought us together, too!!!

True Love - Danielle Rose
