Picking up bales with Joy and rosaries...a pathway to prayer and peace/Nancy here for a day.

Joy and Josephine are happy to see each other again... a small window of precious family time in the middle of haying this week.
Our homemade tomato soup and Ruth's wonderful lettuce feeds a tribe!
A table full for lunch... we have missed Nancy and family a lot, but now they are only 2 1/2hours away so getting together should be more often and so much easier!
Jude trying out the Bumbo for the first time.  We gathered for a big family supper after Ruth and Nancy met friends and spent the afternoon at Camden.
Buddy cousins, George and Jude hanging out for supper last night...
The babies got attention from the girls
Good thing grandma has two of Ruth's seats at this stage... the boys liked to be able to sit up and see what is going on.
Always getting plenty of attention and love!
Ice cream and Our lady for these two.
Visiting with babies on laps.  Our home grown chickens were good for our family supper.
Blue eyed Jude with his blue cap and tongue is cute too!
Zucchini blossoms are very special, and I have to capture them every year.
 And a bug...
Yellow Crook neck squash zucchini sure tasted fresh and wonderful for our wonderful family chicken supper last night.  Pick them small because soon they will be big and we will be tired of them.  That is when zucchini bread is sounding good.
 Cone flowers by the barn...

Joy rode along with grandma this morning while we picked up bales...
 Mom in the tractor.
Not much to play with so Joy joined grandma with some rosary beads around her toes.

Picking up bales out of the ditch along a busy highway is nerve wracking, so prayers are needed and appreciated and add to the peace in a somewhat stressful situation.  It really helps me a lot.
My prayer assistant... the beads were something for her to hold and wrap around her legs.
Driving by the field of corn that is tassling... this year is an unknown as to how the crop will turn out.  Talk about a lot of prayers and placing it all in his hands.
Daddy coming with a bale to put on the rack behind us and Joy enjoying her beads.  It sure was a beautiful day today with the windows down and the cool fresh breezes right Joy?

If there is any message from the readings today - Nothing is impossible with Our Lord and we need to trust in him!  Also that we need to do His Will in our lives.  Asking him to reveal his plan to us, and not our own will.  We know you have a plan for us, O Lord, open and close the doors so that we may walk through or look somewhere else to see your narrow path so that we may carry/drag our Most Cherished Cross and follow after you.
The first reading from Ex 14 - the parting of the Red Sea!!!  Yes!  Imagine walking through the sea with water standing on both sides!  That would make you feel fear and beloved all in one!
So many prayers for the farm this crazy year.  Driving past fields with nothing planted is a very sad sight.

The Alleluia before the Gospel today is amazing and such a powerful reminder as we listen with our hearts to the Gospel - Matthew 12 where his mother comes to talk to him and he responds with the reminder that we can all be part of his family if we do the will of His Father.

R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Whoever loves me will keep my word,
and my Father will love him
and we will come to him.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
John 14:23
One of the cow calf pairs for the fair in a few weeks... super cute and looking good!
Jesus, we come to your Word each day and ask that your Spirit may reveal your Truth to us so that as we die to self we may do your will and come close to you in our domestic Church/family.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
Bless-bless, Barb
