Now 11 year old Therese with her Godmother in KC a few weeks ago in the Grotto of the Nativity.
Therese is very lucky girl to share in the life of her Godmother nun and her Godfather is a priest. Many prayers and certainly she will always value and look to her Lord to show her the path he has for her!
How I loved to see my two girls together sharing time and Maria introducing Hector to his Aunt Little Sister Hallel!
Aunt Hallel blesses each one of her 18 nieces and nephews to have her in their lives... living the life of a Bride of Christ as such a beautiful option for them to ask the Lord to show them what vocation is for them. I pray each day that they can consider this amazing wonderful option along with marriage and single life.
The kids in France a year ago in August for Hallel's final vows! Simon, Mary, David and Therese.. talk about a life-changing experience they were gifted with as we shared in the life of Hallel and her Community of the Lamb.
Now with Bernadette in the house we stayed in in Faundeau… grandma had just French braided some girls' hair - appropriate for being in France!
My days have been flying by with all that life holds... picking up bales, helping John with a course for his studies, traveling for a part, painting a fence... the words of the Gospel today speak to my contemplative heart which longs for those rosary beads and peace to take the place of the fast pace of life...
Jesus said:
"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am meek and humble of heart;
and you will find rest for yourselves.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden light."
Matthew 11
The Best! But how can being in a yoke with Jesus accomplish this? He describes that he is on one side and we are on the other of the yoke and he is teaching us how to follow the lead of our Master/Farmer behind the reigns. If we are meek and humble of heart as Our Lord...we can give control over to Him and find peace and acceptance of all that comes our way. It can still be hard and difficult and we need to toil up the hills, but we find peace in learning from Jesus and giving him all the control, and trust in the outcome.
Many sleepless nights worrying about getting this mountain to France for Hallel! 21!! We brought this to the Lord, and this is a picture of what he accomplished for us.
Even the cost was covered by Pat's mom! I know she was with us in spirit as she had traveled there with us 7 years before for Hallel's first vows when she was 92. Now to support Hallel for her final vows... so much peace and JOY!
Therese eating French bread in Lourdes...
The heat and humidity make me go to the shade when I am painting the fence... getting out there a few hours before dark seemed to be nicer and there was even a breeze that helped.
The moon came up over my painted fence- so stunning is God's handiwork!
Picking up bales in the light rain yesterday morningBreakfast with Joy while we listened to the rain and grandpa put the bales away.
Jude approves of the hard work his Godfather, grandpa and grandma did on landscaping their house!
LOVE his grandma!!!
Jesus, how we love you and want to follow your lead in our lives. You give without counting the cost and treat us with unconditional love and forgiveness. May we return that to those in our lives- most especially those the closest to us in our domestic Church/family. Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah

I just checked Maria's blog! My wonderful sister-in-law, Angela, who even came to France for Hallels' vows with her hubby - my brother Dan!

Another one when they stayed with her on the way to Wisconsin!

A better one of Goddaughter and Godmother, Hallel!

I should have checked Maria's blog sooner, but this day is getting away from me... there is always tomorrow. Bless-bless, Barb
