2009 with 4 year old Simon, 2 year old Mary, about 6 month old David and one year old Therese by the grain bin with our dog, Roger.
Mary is an amazing in demand girl for our farming neighborhood. She has worked down the road for a family that raises and shows goats - so when they leave for shows, Mary does the chores. She than decided to become a goat farmer herself and will start kidding next week! And now she is hired to help at the dog kennel just a few miles away. Yes, she helps mom with her siblings, but her main interest and joy is animals, especially goats!
After she finished they both followed her around while she bottled the two baby calves...

Grandpa and Mary... he was out there today giving Mary some tips on caring for her animals. How we appreciate our young farm family living on the farm and putting a lot of work and care into all they do to help feed the world!

The little ones are my favorite subjects! Being with Jude yesterday and knowing that today is his 2nd birthday... I took advantage of his mom's cute sign and his drawers of clothes to pick from... He gave me lots of happiness with his sweet smiles!

We do not have many blue eyed grandchildren.. Mary is one of them! His smiling eyes were so pretty when he was dressed in blue as grandma had to do a outfit change in the midst of the photo shoot!
We love you Jude! Happy 2nd birthday! He is the last of the 3 boys in 6 weeks to join the other 2 at 2 years old! How I would love to have them all 3 together today in their bibs! A grandma can have pipe dreams in her head and heart!

Roger made it into many pictures around the farm. He was small so I could lift him up and make him take part... He was run over a year ago, and we miss him.

The Reason I went looking for old pictures today after following Mary around as she fed bottles to her baby goats and her orphan calves! Love this so much and I have used it often on cards as it is just the cutest sweetest farm girl picture ever! And now to see Mary as growing up and continuing to be a farmer and love animals!
Then... 13 years ago.
This morning goats around her feet while she feeds the calf... Goats are something new that Mary has brought to the farm. She is broadening their horizons, and doing the work herself!

Serious about her farmwork is carrying forward for this girl. She modeled for her younger siblings how to respect and care for animals. I remember younger sister, Rose, was afraid of cows and calves, but watched Mary and learned how to interact safely with them. Rose is now one of grandpa's main helpers when he locks up the ones that are close to calving every night after feeding them. Rose is also the one who bottles the orphan calves!
Yes, I found many and am so loving using them here today!

Pat handling 2 bottles at once! I love to watch him, he is actually my favorite subject, but I have gotten too many angry pictures taken when he knows I am taking them... so, most of them are from behind. Like today for instance!

A classic of our sweet oldest grandchild! We are expecting our 20th in a little over a month. May 12th in Fort Lewis, WA! I am working on getting out there as Captain Joseph will be deployed and not here for the birth of his 7th child! 
Pat in January with his arms full of the 3 little boys - today they are all now 2 years old! First George on Feb 13, then Hector on March 8th and finally today Jude is 2 on March 26th!
For a man, who had 4 daughters and a son... we have more grandsons than granddaughters, although they are catching up with Birdie 10 months ago and now Maria's little girl on May 12th! 11 grandsons and 9 granddaughters... with each new life our love grows more!

The story goes - Mary said to me as we were pulling into the garage; "Grandma, why do you always say; 'Dang it Roger!'?" "I don't always say; 'Dang it Roger!" I got out of the car and Roger jumped on me in his excitement to see me. The first thing out of my mouth..."Dang it, Roger!" Enough said!
We are all amazed at how Rose Again has in mind the numbers of cows and what their calving history is. Quite something to hear her remember numbers and what they have had in the past or been through.
Yes, that is a bouncy house we rented and put in our huge heated shop in January for our first ever Verly Christmas Camp! It was a hit with about 200 nerf bullets in guns, too! The 3 little boys not so much , but next year...
A good one! I can get my handsome hubby to smile when there are little ones in his arms! He is my champion for LIFE and for family! "Open to LIFE and raising LIGHTS!"
Jesus today in the Gospel you bring our attention to you showing us your Father in all that you do and say in the Word, as well as all we are given each day by your Bride, The Church! "...the Father is in me and I am in the Father.” John 10. Yes, Lord we see all that you do in our lives if only we give you the control and trust! We are so unworthy yet you love and forgive us unconditionally! May we return that to others... most especially those the closest to us in our domestic Church/family! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen
Friday in Passion Week
Our Lady's Seven Sorrows has its origin in Christian devotion which finds it fitting to associate her with the Passion of her Son. The Church, commemorating Mary's suffering, emphasizes her great and courageous love, which caused her to be so closely associated with the work of our Redemption. She was in very truth who, like Judith, faced with the distress and tribulation of her people, spared nothing to save us from ruin. By offering her Son for us, she became our Mother and we became her children.
