Out to help Pat get things ready for the cows to be in the barn and lot and out of the pastures... in other words that dreaded word... winter. We saw squirrels everywhere we went.... going crazy running around with huge pine cones or nuts... I think that they have the inate ability to know that the weather was going to change today. Lilly was out in her element... getting reaquainted with her friends and curious fellow farm animals.... the cows and calves.
She loves to go nose to nose with a cow and then play with them as they kind of charge or tussle with each other... Lilly knows better than to allow herself to be truly butted or run over by a 1200 pound cow! Next she was over at the fence licking the noses of all the calves that are curious about her and have their faces towards the fence... They don't seem to mind one bit having a pink dog tongue licking their noses... A kiss?
Another cow gets a "kiss" on the nose/mouth and Lilly gets not a head bunt or a kick... I think that they truly like each other... I have no doubt that Lilly... formerly a housedog in her first life... is very fond of the cows, and I would call them more curious about her. As long as they do not become angry towards her... it seems like they do just fine as it is! She just knows that they are a lot bigger and heavier... so she needs to be always careful and on her gurad. 
We never run out of stories on the farm... usually it is just my humble interpretation of what animals are thinking... which brings me to the age old question... Do animals think or have feelings? Bless-bless, Barb
