Prayer... so powerful and real!

Susan/Hallel had just gotten off the bus she had riden to be with us... LS Judith was along and they had come to be with us and take John to radiation for the week of Thanksgiving... the NCYC had been in Kansas City... so they had gotten a ride to Marshall!  WE were thrilled to have them with us a week after John had gotten the devatating news of his "regrowth."

A year ago on this weekend... we had a huge church full of prayers warriors as we stood in the center aisle and Father annointed John and we prayed over him using the relic of St Solanus Casey...WE asked for total healing and now a year later we have accomplished that!  It was in His timing, but we have accomplished beating the cancer and John has been blessed with a new faith and spirit of Trust!

Hallel only agreed to sit and pose by her 10th station with little then 3 year old Mary with her... This was where she knelt - "It's the last row with kneelers, so that no one would know that I was crying."  was her explanation for sitting there when she returned from a year in the Discrenment House.  I had asked her if she chose to sit there day after day for those months she was home with us before leaving for France in Sept of 2008... "Did you sit there because of your call to a humble life?" ... "No mom, I just didn't want people to see me cry."

What wonderful memories are connected with it to this day... All those mornings arriving an hour before mass and sharing the holy hour and then mass together... What joy!  My girls take me deeper!  I am submerged in the crashing waves of all there is to learn and be filled with such wisdom and depth of faith through all that I come in contact with!  I rejoice, and have no fear!  Jesus, I trust in you!  Amen and Halleluia!

Bless-bless, Barb
"God does not ask the impossible of any man.  He was not asking more of me, really, than he asks of every man, every Christian, each day of his life.  He was asking only that I learn to see these suffering men around me, these circumstances in the prison at Perm, as sent from his hand and ordained by his providence.  He was asking me to do something, as another Christ; to forget about self and feeling sorry for myself, and to act in the situation after the example of Christ himself... That was all he was asking of me or expecting of me... I had to learn to believe that, no matter what the circumstances, and to act accordingly - with complete trust and confidence in his will, his wisdom, and his grace."  Fr Ciszek (1984) was convicted of being a "Vatican spy" in WWII and spent 23 years in a Soviet prison.
