"he made us, his we are..." Psalm 100

Surprised to find snow in the Cities....Pat says keep it here, and that it might get close to 60 there today.  He also told me that the NH called at 5a to see if I could work today, so it is much more wonderful to be up in the snowy Cities visiting my daughter and her husband and our little 7 month old, Augustine!  It was very nostalgic driving up here with John last night, and we always talk about how we did that so often the year we were fighting the enemy.... cancer!  He said that I spoiled him, by saying my rosary while he napped, and last night wasn't much different.  We did talk a while and that is always nice, but I do love to say my rosary while I travel and I joked(?) saying that my rosary is more important than talking... John's responce;  "That's good, mom.  I love you!"  Then it was off to sleep... we do find a comfort in sharing trips together... John going to work a high school retreat with his cousin, and then I went on to spend some family time with Nancy and her family, and my mom and sisters.
Gus has his first tooth that is very interesting to him... I find it cute that Nancy tells Gus that this is "your grandma that has cows."  He has always loved the cow in his mobile, and Nancy is very much wanting him to come to love the farm.  I am sure that he will be down to see the baby calves soon... we already have our first early calf, but in a month we will really start in earnest.  I think that Gus will look at them without fear with his big brown curious eyes.  The same eyes that his mother looked at the world with in her calm and gentle way... Such a delight to have that gift!  Of course, they are Augustine's eyes, but they are so much like Nancy's, and as Nancy's mother that is so special!
I was looking for a baby picture of Nancy to compare....eyes, but found this instead.  Those precious eyes of my beautiful loving daughter, and now they are newly looking at the world in her son!  The miracle and wonder of LIFE and LOVE... the beauty of creation brings such joy and light to the world!  May we all feel the Lord looking at us "under the fig tree" with such longing and love - He wants to spend every minute of our lives with us!  He sees us wherever we are in our lives, and He yearns for us to come to him with open arms and hearts and say;  "Rabbi, you are the Son of God."  If we do... our lives are truly transformed and filled with the mystical experience of ..."you will see the sky opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."  John 1:43-51 - the Gospel for today
How many times at mass at the consecration do I think just that thing?  That heaven and earth are coming together as Christ is there on the altar for us to receive - come from heaven to fill us with LIFE, and show us the way to eternal LIFE!  When I held my children, and now my grandchildren... heaven in my arms!
The beautiful eyes of my daughter... so filled with joy and love and happiness in HIM!
Jesus, I am so filled with love for you... as I see you watching me and yearning to be with me always!  I never want to be parted from you, or find myself under a tree rather than always walking with you.  With you at my side, with you carrying me through the difficult places, with you in my innermost sanctuary of my soul, where I love to be that one that you have called to a cloistered life with you in that inner place... even in the midst of this "active" life that I am living on the outside.  We are truly called to come away to be with you, and to pick up our cross daily, and follow after you... maybe that cross is the busyness that comes between us, and prevents us from that time that we crave together, but help us to see you in all that surround us, and come to you in all those in our domestic church - our family and acquaintances.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Halleluia
The amazing Grand Hallel psalm from mass today - Psalm 100
"Sing joyfully to the Lord, all you lands;
serve the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful song.
Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.

Know that the Lord is God;
he made us, his we are;
his people, the flock he tends.
Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
his courts with praise;
Give thanks to him; bless his name.
Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.

The Lord is good:
the Lord, whose kindness endures forever,
and his faithfulness, to all generations.
Let all the earth cry out to God with joy."
