Well, this could be today with all the puddles full after rain on and off for days now. Pat thanked the Lord for "life-giving" rain today, and then prayed for sunshine so that they can finish planting the bean fields that we have left. Just in from feeding the calves - I wandered around the yard looking for the sweet flowers I noticed on the lawnmower. There were many tiny sweet violets in the grass that I noticed as I was mowing them over, and our best eating apple tree was suddenly loaded with buds ready to burst forth, and this morning I found that one had opened!
Today we are concerned for Ruth and the baby. She has been having heart palpitations and went into the ER over the weekend. They told her that what they found was not something that they treat, but Ruth was here yesterday wearing a heart monitor and spoke so profoundly to me... "If it were just me, I would just go forward and not be too concerned but there are two of us here!" To see how she it taking her baby's health and safety so seriously is such a powerful message of LIFE and the way we are called to protect and cherish it at all costs! Ruth is not on death's door or anything, but it is a concern definitely and we would ask for prayers for her and the baby, please. We would like to get her thoroughly looked at, and have some definite answers as well as place the two of them in the Lord's hands and Trust. This does not mean that we would just do nothing and say - "Lord, you care for her." No, it means that we aggressively look for some good and knowledgeable doctors to get to the bottom of this and care for Ruth and the baby in all the ways that can be for their benefit!
Jesus, with St Rita at your feet on this her feastday giving you all the honor and praise... we lift up Ruth and the baby to you this day! We know that you are looking out for her and that you are the author of all LIFE. We ask for direction and healing as we look for the path to take for the safety of Ruth and the baby. I am just back from taking her in to be seen and get a referral to the cardiologist in the next few days. WE also got her off the 3 day 12 hour shift at the hospital for the weekend. We don't want to take any chances with the two of them until we get this thoroughly investigated! We feel like we are taking some strides to do all we can to do to make sure that Ruth and the baby are safe. All prayers are appreciated and needed. Jesus, we trust in YOU. Amen and Halleluia

Love for the Cross has always been the distictive sign of chosen souls. Being burdened with the Cross has always been a sign of predilection on the part of the heavenly Father for those souls...
Let us show ourselves to be worthy children of such a great Father. Jesus also invites us to climb to Calvary with him, so let us not refuse. Ascending the painful mount with Jesus will be a joy for us.
In the course of LIFE, mortifications will not be lacking for us, either. Let us love them; let us embrace them with a cheerful soul, and let us always bless the good God in everything."
