My favorite and a special privilege I was given to be here and witness this moment of Joseph returning to the loving arms of his family!
The kids are so happy to see dad home... they have to touch him and get his entire attention!
David looks up to his dad so much!
It is so fun to watch the kids embrace fighting the good fight! Romeo with his armor! It was powerful to hear my husband read from Ephesians in morning prayer today about putting on our armor of God to protect us from the arrows and attacks of Satan!
Ephesians 6:10-18New International Version (NIV)
The Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
The thing about Joseph that is so important in his service is that he is a man of God and not ashamed to share that freely and forcefully in an environment so in need of LIGHT!
Grabbing all the uniform shots I took 3 years ago...
His 3 boys will always have strong feelings about the value of the . Being raised as LIGHTS!
Our world has been rocked and deepened in a powerful way to have Maria's Joseph in the army. It has made us thankful and prayerful and hopeful that our country can stay free and embrace The Truth and chase away the darkness and lies of Satan!
The foundation of their marriage/family/domestic Church is deep Faith in Jesus and His Bride, The Church!

Another one I wish to remember today with thanks... my dad, Deacon Robert Cross! He served in WWII and we are learning more about how his service shaped all of our lives!
With the gift of his cochlear implant thanks to the Vets Hospitals - we are able to communicate with him and he shared his story of being on lookout in Panama and hearing the Lord calling him to the ministry. "I always thought I would be a manual laborer or blue collar worker, but thanks to the GI Bill I was able to go to Kalamazoo College and become a minister, meet mom, and the rest is amazing history! http://familysoulstory.blogspot.com/p/the-amazing-story-of-13-becoming.html
Proud to be an American!
We love you, dad!
Romeo arrives on Pat's 60th birthday last year!
Thanks to Dave and Gail - Joseph's parents for their service and raising such a wonderful man to serve his country and The Lord!
Jesus, we are reminded this day to give thanks for all those that are protecting us and keeping our world safe. May we never forget to fall on our knees and pray and give thanks for all we are given. When you give us the command to "Stand up and go; your faith has saved you." Luke 17:19 that we go forth sharing your LIGHT with all we meet, dying to self so that we give our all without counting the cost. Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
The result of my dad's answering the call while in the ... quite a sight! Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
