In the darkened church after mass this morning... the tabernacle gleams and pulses with LIFE - Jesus there for me to lift up my needs as the rosary beads pass through my fingers.
I kind of have a lectio divina deepening of The Word thanks to numerous times reading and sharing the readings... 3 times today allowed these words from the amazing first reading to minister to me and remind me of my call to die to self... A mother of 7 to her sons as they face death rather than deny their Faith in God - "Since it is the Creator of the universe who shapes each man's beginning, as he brings about the origin of everything, he, in his mercy, will give back both breath and life, because you now disregard yourselves for the sake of the law." So often, I feel that I have not given enough, and so it is true in many ways. But I also know that in saying "yes" to all the LIFE the Lord would bless me with and raising them as LIGHTS - it has made me embrace gladly and whole heartedly disregard for my self! I have died to self for the sake of Faith/Family/Farm and been blessed with so much LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT! The losses - 7 were so hard, yet they keep my eyes on Heaven!

My motherhood is my badge of honor and badge of courage and badge of love and badge of suffering and badge of humility and all that I ever longed to be.... nothing else comes close or compares. I know that sounds bad as a wife, and I am really praying and trying to be more loving to my Most Cherished Cross/Patrick Gerard Verly! I reveled in these words of a mother of 7 sons today in the first reading from second Maccabees7! "Son , have pity on me, who carried you in my womb for nine months, nursed you for three years, brought you up, educated and supported you to your present age. I beg you, child, to look at the heavens and the earth and see all that is in them; then you will know that God did not make them out of existing things; and in the same way the human race came into existence. Do not be afraid of this executioner, but be worthy of your brothers and accept death, so that in the time of mercy I may receive you again with them."
How hard is it to give our children to Jesus and trust? I am eternally grateful to share Faith with my 5 here on earth, and to see them embracing LIFE and raising LIGHTS! It has been hard to watch them face those hard things in life, but that is the Cross and where we find LIFE/LIGHT/LOVE/Jesus in His Word and Sacrament!
My Spiritual Mother is so close to me always, but lately I have run into her arms over and over!
All LIGHT is reflected off the gleaming tabernacle - "Come to me all you who are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
Our Lady of Guadalupe of The Americas! Jesus from the Cross looks down upon this apparition of Our Lady that brought millions to The Church after appearing to poor humble - St Juan Diego!
I saw a Hispanic woman tuck these dollars in this place of the statue a few weeks ago, and there is sweetly rests - prayers to Our Lady with Love and devotion so sweet as she kneeled on the hard floor in front of her in prayer.
Jesus, how I long to share The Truth of the beauty and call to Motherhood we are given above all as married women! May this shine forth from my life without using words! I feel that the most precious talent you have given me is the call to be open to LIFE and to raise LIGHTS sharing my Faith with JOY! May I die to self so that you may live in me and use me - may I be your hands and feet showing the world that Motherhood is the source of all LIFE! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
God's creation is so amazing! A wonderful rain fills us with gratitude. Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
The Beatitudes share His message to the world! May we embrace The Word/Jesus showing us the narrow path we are called to follow!
