2 year old brother along with all the 6 older ones love to hold her and admire their new baby sister. She is truly a wonderful healthy content baby.
Eyes open and found her thumb - her dad in Afghanistan really loved to see "her eyes open". Dad really appreciates having pictures through the days away from his family.
Dad, Paul, announced that Lanoue Baby #7 is on the way around Thanksgiving time. So many prayers and great excitement surrounding grandbaby #21! Trusting in our Lord and His plan keeps us on our knees.

Patrick usually doesn't like pictures, but Maggie is the charm for getting him to give grandma a sweet smile with his arms full. Thanks, dear Patrick! Grandma and Patrick have a special bond as I was called upon to baptize him at an hour old in NICU in El Paso after a traumatic birth! Dad was deployed to Afghanistan then also. So many prayers!

We announce early and I always did that without hesitation... the losses still were a life no matter how short. How I love all my children 7 in heaven and 5 here with me - keeps my eyes on heaven!

Maggie sleeps on while her 6 siblings and mom make 30 thank you notes for the generous meals and gifts showered upon them. Oma and I have not really had to cook a meal since we arrived 8 days ago! So wonderful is life on base when dad is deployed!
Love this! I feel close to Servant of God Dorothy Day after reading her Autobiography some years back. She was a real person, who found The Truth in The Church!
Today in the Gospel Jesus is speaking to His Father and promising Eternal LIFE to us, who love and believe in Jesus and His Church!
Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said,
“Father, the hour has come.
Give glory to your son, so that your son may glorify you,
just as you gave him authority over all people,
so that your son may give eternal life to all you gave him.
Now this is eternal life,

Joe's mom and I were talking about how we feel that it is getting to be time for us to head for home. Maria announced that she is off her pain meds totally now and only had tenderness in her incision. Maggie is such a wonderful baby for her, and her 6 children are so well disciplined and helpful to mom in their chores and help around the house. Maria has her house running like a well oiled machine, and Gail and I feel that we can easily leave for home. I purchased my ticket to fly home on Thursday afternoon- no longer a fake plan!
Such a wonderful family now with 7 happy healthy kids to share their lives together as a domestic Church/famiily!

Both of the grandmas, Oma and I, are reading from Maria's extensive library! I am currently on my 3rd book - all suggested by my dear daughter #3. I am reading The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom. I am being called to return to the pages, so I will end this for today.
My time is rich in beautifully written stories that enrich my life. So wonderful along with the day to day sharing of prayer and dishes here on base - much like my time with our Family of the Lamb. Prayer and dishes!
30 finished thank you notes this morning! We celebrate a new life and all the outpouring of love and support we have been given. Jesus, we keep our eyes on heaven forever as we stagger down the narrow path carrying/dragging our Most Cherished Cross, which we embrace to find LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
A fun story from 6 year old Romeo about the cross..."I was having these nightmares at night, so I went to mom and dad and they gave me a cross to take to bed with me. The nightmares went away with the cross. Then mom and dad would ask for me to give it back to them in the morning." Romeo - I smiled deep in my heart to consider "the Cross" touching him in this way! "This is how one loves!" as we look at the Crucifix! Bless-bless, Barbara
12 year old David Lanoue heading out to Camp Foley this morning. I was able to go with #$ daughter, Susan/Little Sister Hallel about 25 years ago! It was great! I am super excited for Dave and hearing about it!
